What is Kenko electrostatic flocking?

The Kenko extension tube for Sony E-mount cameras uses an electrostatic flocking finish on the inner surface of the extension ring to minimise romping light rays, internal reflections, and flares. It’s comprised of a mass of short (0.3 – 0.5 mm) synthetic fibres which are adhered to the fabric by static electricity and are reinforced with a coating to prevent them from falling out. Kenko electrostatic flocking reduces unwanted light from appearing in your images.
