The Nikon MC-22 Cord is 1m long with 10-pin camera connection and 3 banana plugs. The MC-22 remote cord can be connected to the 10-pin remote connector allowing the shutter to be released by a simple electrical contact closure which can be extended to several hundreds of metres. In a remote mounted situation, the camera may drop into power saving mode (standby mode) and the half-press/full press operation must be replicated via the remote cable before a shot is taken (this does not apply if the camera is connected by a Firewire connection with Nikon Capture control running or when connected to a AC power adapter). To remotely replicating the operation of half pressing of the cameras shutter release, connect together the two black and blue leads from the MC-22.To remotely trigger the shutter and take an image, the simply across the black and Blue connectors (joined) with the yellow lead. When using the MC-22 do not to supply external power to the MC-22 connections, the cameras battery will supply the required power.
