First up, the latest camera in the Olympus Pen series of stylish CSCs, the Olympus Pen E-PL8. With chic design combining with high-performance image-making, the E-PL8 is pitched as a fashion accessory as well as a tool.

Here Olympus explains the camera’s vision and style:

“The Olympus PEN family has a head-turning autumn debutante: the new E-PL8, which blends distinctly feminine curves with the seamless social skills of bloggers, fashionistas and other switched on millennials. The new shape and leather look finish add an eye-catching flourish to the most individual of outfits while Olympus technology makes it easier than ever to take and upload top notch still and video to social media – with image quality that stands out from the smartphone crowd. Despite its metal body and interchangeable lenses, the E-PL8 is light and compact enough to slip easily into a small bag.”

The body is lightweight, at a slender 326 grams, and features a flip-down LCD screen that’s designed to facilitate selfie-taking, with touchscreen controls included.

The E-PL8 features a number of creative Art Filters and in-camera editing modes for producing stylised, striking images. These can be instantly shared thanks to the built-in Wi-fi and the OI.Share app for smartphones. It also shoots Full HD video, which can be edited in-camera.

It can be paired with a number of Olympus fashion accessories. It’s available in white, black or brown.

The Olympus Pen E-PL8 is expected in October 2016.
