Photokina is the world's biggest photographic and imaging trade show. It is being held in the Cologne Exhibition Centre, the Kölnmesse, from September 21st to the 26th, and a team from Wex Photographic have travelled to Germany to see what new and exciting products are being announced and on display at Photokina.
For the benefit of any of you that are interested in the Photokina happenings, but didn't want to travel to Germany, weren't able to go to Germany, or, like some of us, had to stay behind and work while your colleagues went to Germany, we will be updating you with all the latest goings-on via the WEX blog and Twitter. The Nikon D7000 SLR
Launched earlier this month, Nikon's latest enthusiast level digital SLR has already made quite an impact. Created as an upgrade to the hugely popular D90 camera, the D7000 has got many photographers' mouths watering with its promises of superb auto-focus performance and low-light capabilities , all wrapped up in a pro-spec magnesium alloy body.
In this video the Wex Photographic team at Photokina in Cologne speak to Nikon's Simon Iddon about the new the D7000. Simon explains some of the key features of their latest DSLR, including the 16.2 megapixel CMOS sensor, expanded ISO range, Expeed 2 image processor, and full 1080p HD movie recording.
The Nikon CoolPix P7000
The number '7000' is clearly a significant one in Nikon's world this year. The CoolPix P7000 is set to rival the Canon PowerShot G series of cameras in the world of creative compacts. Offering the performance, controls and functions of many SLR cameras, but with the portability and ease of use of a point-and-shoot compact, Nikon have created the P7000 as a go anywhere and shoot anything camera.
