We’re not sure if its duck hunting season but joining the flock of new Canons is the latest digital camera from Ricoh: The CX2. The new Ricoh CX2 digital camera features a 28-300mm f3.5-5.6 lens, 9.29 megapixel CMOS sensor, and speedy 5 frames per second continuous shooting.

The Ricoh CX2 is a fairly similar spec to the CX1; the notable upgrades are the 28-300mm lens and 5 frames per second capability (formerly 28-200mm and 4fps on the CX1). The high-resolution 3 inch LCD screen remains unchanged, as does the distinctive styling – apart from the addition of a textured grip.

The 9 megapixel CMOS sensor and Smooth Imaging Engine IV promise reduced noise in high ISO images and combine to offer the CX2’s strongest selling point: Expanded dynamic range. The expanded dynamic range mode was well received in Ricoh CX1 reviews, and is retained in the CX2, offering a dynamic range up to 12EV.
