Panasonic has announced a huge array of firmware updates coming in the next few weeks. Here, we lay out some of the impressive changes on the horizon

LUMIX BGH1 (Ver.2.0) Released 24th March 2021

IP streaming and ProRes RAW coming to the BGH1

IP Streaming function: IP streaming with PC in 4k UHD up to 60p and FHD up to 60p.

Apple ProRes RAW video recording: 4K DCI 12-bit up to 60p Apple ProRes RAW can be recorded through the Atomos NINJA V.

SD formatting via PC connection: You can now format the SD card via LUMIX Tether while the camera is connected.

Genlock status display: Sync status can be shown on the external monitor when the camera is under Genlock synchronization.

Users can choose to add the camera orientation in playback: Users can choose to add camera orientation in Position Info menu to prevent unintended rotation in playback.

 

LUMIX Tether for Multicam (Ver.1.1) Released 24th March 2021

Additional settings and Rec. Quality options coming to LUMIX Tether

Settings and controls over the BGH1 during IP streaming: Settings and controls over the BGH1 during IP streaming are available.

Rec. Quality options for RAW video displayed: You can display your Rec. Quality options corresponding to RAW video data output.

Start/Stop recording on the external device: It is possible to start/stop recording on the external device with the BGH1 during HDMI/SDI output.

 

LUMIX S1H Firmware (Ver. 2.4) Released 31st March 2021

RAW video data output for the S1H

Raw video data output to Blackmagic video assist: 5.9K/4K/Anamorphic 12-bit RAW video data can be output over HDMI to Blakcmagic Video Assist, to be recorded by Blackmagic RAW.

Users can choose to add the camera orientation in playback: Users can choose to add camera orientation in Position Info menu to prevent unintended rotation in playback.

Power save mode when the camera is powered with an AC adaptor: Power save mode can be selected even while the camera is powered with an AC adaptor.

 

LUMIX S1 Firmware (Ver. 2.0) Released 6th April 2021

6K, C4K and Anamorphic 10-bit recording boost the video specs of the S1

6K video recording: 6K 10-bit 24p video recording mode in MOV format.

C4K video recording: 4K DCI 10-bit up to 60p video recording mode in MOV format.

4K 10-bit video recording: 4K 10-bit up to 60p video recording mode in MOV format.

Anamorphic video recording: Anamorphic video recording mode in MOV format.

Time-Code: Time-Code function now available.

RAW video output via HDMI: 5.9K/4K/Anamorphic 12-bit RAW video can be output over HDMI. Apple ProRes RAW can be recorded on the Atomos NINJA V.

Dual Native ISO function added: Dual Native ISO setting function has been added.
