Bringing RX-series quality into an ultra-durable body, the Sony RX0 is a take-everywhere camera for adventurers
An action camera offering serious imaging power, the Sony RX0 is an exciting new offering for adventurous photographers.
The body is waterproof to 10m, shockproof to 2m and crushproof to 200kgf, and it houses a 1.0-type stacked 15.3MP Exmor RS CMOS image sensor.
High quality of images is further assured by the Zeiss Tessar T* 24mm f/4 fixed lens on the front of the camera. It’s speedy too, with its anti-distortion shutter able to shoot at speeds of up to 1/32,000sec and the ability to shoot at up to 16fps continuously. This makes sense, given the presence of Sony’s Bionz X processor.
Video-wise, the RX0 has a seriously impressive spec for a camera of its size. It packs a range of Picture Profiles, including Sony’s popular S-Log2 gamma settings which help capture a wider dynamic range, as well as an uncompressed 4K Clean HDMI output and 40x super slow-motion recording. It also features a wireless multi-control function, meaning a smartphone or tablet can control up to five RX0 cameras simultaneously.
