The Canon EOS 1D Mark 4 is a high speed, professional Digital SLR developed on the back of feedback from photographers. Featuring a redesigned 16.1 megapixel APS-H CMOS sensor & an incredible 45-point Auto-Focus (AF) System with 39 f2.8 sensitive cross-type points, the Canon 1D Mark IV delivers a wide selection of precise focus areas, allowing consistent AF on both static and moving subjects. In addition, the improved AI Servo II AF offers more precision when tracking moving objects by using the power of a dedicated microprocessor, resulting in great accuracy in low contrast or bright conditions, even when shooting at 10fps. The standard ISO range of the Canon 1D Mark IV is 100-12,800, with an extended range of 50-102,400.

Built for professionals

In a light and durable full magnesium alloy body that provides protection against knocks, the Canon EOS 1D Mark IV Digital SLR has 76 rubber seals fitted around the controls and cover seams, making it dust and water resistant when used together with Canon's range of weather-resistant EF lenses and Speedlite EX flash units. The body has been slightly redesigned, and the buttons reshaped and given a more definitive "click" when depressed.

The Canon EOS 1D Mark 4 Digital SLR also features a 920,000 dot VGA resolution Clear View II LCD that enables the photographer to review images in any condition. Canon has filled the gap between the LCD panel and the protective cover with a photo-elastic material, reducing the light reflection and resulting in a clear display. The cover has been replaced by reinforced glass (previously acrylic) giving the screen strong, scratch resistant protection.

The EOS-1D Mark IV also features Canon's standard EOS integrated cleaning system, which automatically eliminates dust on the sensor and ensures a reliable image quality, even when shooting in the most demanding conditions.

High Defintion Video

The Canon EOS 1D Mark IV can capture 1080p HD video at 30, 25 and 24 frames per second, and 720p footage at 60 and 50 frames per second. The digital SLR camera is completely compatible with PAL, NTSC and native 1080 / 24p cinematic frame rates. In addition, the camera gives photographers full control over depth of field by offering full manual exposure.

Featuring a programmable button to enable quick movie shooting, the Canon EOS 1D Mk IV enables photographers to record HD video at the touch of a button. Also featuring a mini HDMI output, video and images can be viewed directly on compatible HD-ready TVs with the EOS 1D Mk 4.

Your camera, your needs

Ensuring that you get exactly what you want from your camera, the Canon EOS 1D Mark IV is fully customisable. Auto Exposure (AE) and Flash Exposure (FE) micro adjustments mean that photographers can fine tune exposure settings to personal preference, or to exactly match another camera. By saving the preferred profile to the memory card, you can then transfer it to any 1D Mk IV camera you use.

The Canon EOS 1D Mark IV also makes it possible to add copyright information directly in the camera. Photographers can embed details within each shot removing the necessity for retrospective data insertion and making it even quicker to get your shots to your desk. There is also an integrated microphone which allows the recording of audio notes to accompany each image, directly benefitting photographers who wish to keep a record of the content of each image as they shoot.
