Safety First

The DJI Air 2S has taken a leaf out of the airspace safety book, with the inclusion of the pro-level AirSense safety system. This works by acquiring the Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) flight location information from aeroplanes and helicopters. It can then display this upon a map, providing key audio-visual alerts via the DJI Fly app to keep your drone away from in-flight aircrafts. The Air 2S is classified as A2 Transitional, which allows it to fly in A2 class until the end of the transitional period (1st January 2023). At this point, the current plan from the CAA is to class all drones manufactured prior to this date and without the classification markings as ‘Legacy drones’, this would change the capabilities of the drone to the A3 category.
