Combining the advanced Skyport HS transmitter and the Quadra HS head, this kit pairs with you existing ELB 400 or Quadra power pack to bring you an extremely portable and powerful – to the tune of 424Ws – lighting solution. Capable of speeds of up to a stunning 1/8000s, Hi-Sync adds new techniques to your creative quiver, enabling you to crisply freeze motion, use wider aperture settings and dramatically darken the background of your compositions.
The Skyport HS
"The Skyport HS offers reliability that hasn't been available with any transmitter before now. It incorporates so many advanced features that it opens up a whole new world in flash photography. I haven't been this excited about a new product announcement in a long time!" - Michael Clark, Adventure Photographer
Boldly Going Where No Transmitter Has Gone Before!
After 10 years and over 400,000 Skyport units sold, Elinchrom decided to not only raise the bar but also leap way over it with the launch of the EL-Skyport Transmitter Plus HS, (or Skyport HS for short).
The most advanced Skyport ever, it gives Elinchrom users the ability to control and visualise power settings across all their lights directly from the Skyport transmitter plus the ability to shoot at speeds up to 1/8000s in Hi-Sync mode.
- Large LCD with unique, real-time display of remote flash power settings
- Easy access buttons and Digital Dial for fast setup and control
- 20 Channels, 4 Groups for Normal and Speed Sync Modes
- Hi-Sync, up to 1/8000sec with Canon and Nikon cameras
- Extended working range up to 656ft (200m)
- AF Illuminator and sure-lock mounting foot
- USB port for future-proof upgrades
New Visual Feedback Interface
The Large LCD display of the Skyport HS features two-way control via a new Visual Feedback Interface that lets you see the exact power of every light in your setup right on the transmitter. Users control each light’s power level and modeling lamp setting directly from the Skyport transmitter, which instantly shows the updated power settings. This provides unsurpassed levels of ‘two-way communication and control’ for every light in your setup right from your camera.
Hi-Sync opens up the world of flash photography to explore even further
Elinchrom Hi-Sync technology lets you go beyond the X-Sync of your camera. Photographers can simply switch to Hi-Sync mode and access sync speeds up to 1/8000s to freeze motion, overpower the sun, darken backgrounds or use a wider aperture. The new ODS (Over Drive Sync) enables users to fine tune the Skyport plus HS transmitter’s trigger signal to optimise exposure at high shutter speeds while gaining up to 2 more f-stops of light. This allows you to:
- Freeze motion
- Overpower the Sun
- Darken background
- Use wider aperture
The Skyport HS has 20 frequency channels that can be used for either Normal or Speed mode. The transmitter attaches easily and securely to the hotshoe with its one-touch quick-lock mechanism, and is powered by 2x AA batteries. It also features an integrated AF Illuminator for faster focusing and a mini-USB socket for firmware updates. Users can instantly distinguish what sync mode they are in as the backlit display glows green for normal sync mode, and red for speed sync mode.
They can also enjoy a range of up to 656ft (200m) outdoors, and up to 196ft (60m) indoors.
No extra receiver necessary
The new Skyport HS continues the Elinchrom commitment to quality; providing photographers with tools to enhance their shooting experience while also showing how Elinchrom is looking firmly ahead to the future. The Skyport HS represents a seamless extension of the EL-Skyport family since it is also compatible with the three previous generations of flash units (including the EL- Skyport Transceiver RX module for Style RX, Digital RX, and Ranger RX systems, and the integrated EL-Skyport modules for the BRX, D-Lite RX, ELC Pro HD, and ELB series.) The Skyport HS adds synchronisation capability and “two-way control” functionality to all Elinchrom lights with EL-Skyport capability.
ODS (Over Drive Sync)
ODS enables users to fine tune the Skyport Plus HS transmitter's trigger signal to optimise exposure at high shutter speeds while gain more light.
Not only a trigger device; it is also a remote control for up-to 10 Elinchrom flash units with built-in receivers. Control and set the flash power and the modelling lamp in 4 Groups or individually.
The EL-Skyport HS has a total of 20 frequency channels that can be used for either Normal or Speed mode. Users can instantly distinguish which sync mode they are in as the backlit display glows green for normal mode, and red for speed mode. They can also enjoy a range up to 200 m (656’) outdoors and up to 60 m (196’) indoors.
The transmitter attaches easily and securely to the hotshoe with its bayonet locking system and is powered by 2x AA batteries. It also features an integrated AF illuminator for fast focusing and a mini-USB socket for firmware updates.
The EL-Skyport HS represents a seamless extension of the EL-Skyport family since it is also compatible with the three previous generations of flash units (including the EL-Skyport Transceiver RX module for Style RX, Digitial RX, and Ranger RX systems, the integrated EL-Skyport modules for D-Lite RX, BRX, ELC Pro HD and ELB series.). The Quadra HS head
The Quadra HS Head is a powerful, full-functioning miniaturised flash head which is compatible with the ELB 400 and all previous generations of Quadra packs. Designed specifically for Hi-Sync (HS) photography the Quadra HS works with shutter speeds all the way up to 1/8000th second with virtually no banding or gradation. At full power, it has a long flash duration of 1/600th second, which makes it perfect for Hi-Sync photography. The new flash head also makes it easier to shoot at lower power settings while using HS technology, which was not possible before with HyperSync.
The HS flash head is designed to give you more light when using HS technology than the standard ELB 400 Pro head. When mated with the Skyport Plus HS transmitter, the result is that you can overpower the sun from 20-feet away in full daylight—all with only 424 Ws! At normal sync speeds overpowering the sun with 1,200 Ws is barely possible from 20-feet away. With the new HS technology in the ELB 400 and Skyport Plus HS setup, you can now take smaller, lighter gear and over power the sun from unimaginable distances - all while stopping the action with a fast shutter speed. This combination allows for unparalleled versatility with flash photography.
Built to be as portable as possible and weighing only 0.28 kg (0.62 lbs.), this head not only packs well but it is mountable in situations that would be impossible for a full-sized flash head.
The HS designation denotes the system’s optimised head for Hi-Sync photography such as high shutter speeds or overpowering the sun and limits to a minimum the gradient effect.
The Elinchrom Hi-Sync technology works similarly to HyperSync in that it takes a slice of the light out of the flash curve. Because it is the Elinchrom in-house system it is optimised to work much better than HyperSync ever has and it is also much easier to use. This is by far the best high shutter speed flash sync technology on the market - and not just by a little.
Besides being able to overpower the sun from phenomenal distances (with only 424 Ws), Hi-Sync can be used for other creative effects including: freezing motion, darkening backgrounds using high shutter speeds, shooting at large apertures for shallow depth of field, having full control over shutter speed and aperture choice, and getting sharper images with high resolution images.
The Quadra HS head also integrates a daylight balanced LED modelling lamp that produces the equivalent of 50W of tungsten light output. It is ideal for use in conjunction with the new EL-Skyport transmitter Plus HS.
There exist many portable accessories dedicated to the Quadra mount but Elinchrom also offers the Quadra reflector adapter for those who want full access to the complete range of Elinchrom accessories, including Rotalux, Litemotiv, et cetera.

Can I repay early? If so how?
No repayments are scheduled in the initial six-month deferral period. However, it is possible to pay off the loan, either by way of a lump sum or in smaller amounts. If the loan is fully repaid within the six-month deferral period, then no interest is payable, but a £29.00 early-settlement will be incurred. Such repayments may be made to Barclays Partner Finance by cheque, debit card or standing order. Unfortunately it is not possible to set up a direct debit within the deferral period. Further information on how to make such repayments will be set out in the loan agreement pack provided by Barclays Partner Finance.
What happens if I don't repay within the first six months (deferral period)?
Following the six month deferral period, Barclays Partner Finance will initiate a monthly direct debit payment for the remaining duration of the loan. Interest will be charged at a rate of 19.9% APR on outstanding balances (backdated to the first date of the loan). Late payment penalties and early repayment charges will apply from this point. Barclays Partner Finance will send a reminder letter approximately one month before the six month deferral period is due to elapse. Note: If you chose to spread the cost and pay monthly, interest is charged from the start of the loan, not from the start of the repayment period.
What will I receive from the finance provider (lender)?
Barclays Partner Finance will send a loan agreement pack approximately four weeks after delivery of the goods, confirming that the account has been activated and, from this point, it is possible to make repayments against the loan.
