No More Passwords
The G-Technology ArmorLock Encrypted NVMe SSD removes the need to remember passwords. With this unit, the ArmorLock technology allows your phone to be your password by utilising biometric authentication. Simply open the app and use your phone’s fingerprint scanner or eye recognition to unlock your external hard drive to access your files.
In addition, collaboration is vital for many different workflows and when multiple users have access to password-protected hard drives or multiple external drives are used, this creates very-real security risks with sensitive information. To limit the risk of data breaches, the ArmorLock app provides you with easy, multi-user authorisation and management features. Furthermore, you can format the hard drive to one of the compatible file systems and when your content is no longer needed, you can securely erase and confidently erase the drive contents with the app. And should you want to know the current location of the hard drive, the app will show you on a map.
High-Grade Data Security
This hard drive is equipped with constant, high-grade 256-bit AES-XTS hardware encryption which provides powerful data protection without compromising on speed. The ArmorLock encrypted NVMe SSD comes locked-down out of the box, shutting out access from the start. When a drive is unlocked you can quickly access to stored content, and when ejecting the drive it’ll automatically lock, removing any access to the contents.
Fast Transfer Speeds
The unit uses an intelligent and advanced heat dispersing, cool aluminium core. This system provides sustained, pro-grade transfer speeds up to 1000 MB/s for reads and writes. This means you will not have to wait around for your files to be deposited on the drive or opened up once you or your client receives the drive.
The ArmorLock encrypted NVMe SSD has been built to last and to withstand a lot of force. It’s housed in G-Tech's durable, easy-to-hold enclosure which offers drop protection of up to 10 feet. This enclosure also offers a crush resistance of up to 450KG and is even IP67 dust and water-resistant.

Will this connect to any computer system?
To use this hard drive your computer will need to be running at least Windows 10 or MacOS 10.12. You will need to connect to your system via the included USB Type-C to Type-C or Type-C to Type-A cable.
Please Note: The app requires macOS 10.13 or later or iOS 10.13 or later.
How does the App unlock the SSD?
In the App, you will assign your fingerprint or eye scan via your phone’s biometric scanners. This means that the unit will only be opened by your unique patterns when accessed through the app. When collaborating, you can invite people through the app in their phones so that they will be able to open the device too. Without this invitation, no one else will be able to open the device apart from you.
Is there a master password?
No, the SSD comes locked and will only unlock once you have registered your phone’s biometrics. Once set up, you biometric scan will be the only way to open the device. Just as with conventional hard drives, if you don’t have the password, you cannot access the data.
