How bright is the GlareOne LED 100 BiColor D?
Without a modifier, the lamp produces more than 3,460 lux at one metre when set to 5500K. Attaching the supplied canopy narrows the broad beam and raises the reading above 32,200 lux at the same distance. This output is sufficient to place the light further back or pass it through diffusion without losing too much intensity. Brightness adjusts continuously from 0 to 100%.
How is the light powered?
The lamp accepts a V-Mount battery or a power bank with a 100W Power Delivery output, as well as the supplied mains adapter. A 14.8V, 95Wh V-Mount USB-C battery powers the lamp for about 60 minutes. Maximum output reduces to 80% when powered this way. Battery power keeps mains cables away from the stand when sockets are unavailable or badly positioned.
Can I control the lamp remotely?
Yes. Bluetooth connects the lamp to the GlareOne Studio app on Android and iOS devices. Once connected, the app provides wireless control without requiring a separate radio remote. This is useful when the lamp sits high on a stand or behind a large modifier, where reaching the control panel would disturb its position. The lamp does not include radio control.
Is the cooling fan quiet enough for recording sound?
The active cooling fan stays below 30dB during normal operation. A heat sink draws heat away from the COB LED, while the fan moves air through the housing, allowing the lamp to maintain higher output. For sound-sensitive takes, a button on the control panel switches the fan off and changes the lamp to passive cooling. Maximum output reduces in this mode because heat can no longer leave the housing as quickly.
Which light modifiers fit the lamp?
The built-in G-Mount accepts compatible GlareOne modifiers directly. A Bowens adapter is also included, so fitting it expands the lamp's compatibility with a wider range of Bowens-mount softboxes, reflectors and other attachments. The stand bracket also includes an umbrella holder for reflective or shoot-through umbrellas. Changing the modifier alters the spread, direction and softness of the light without changing its colour setting.
