The HIKMICRO T16 combines a Dual-FOV lens system, 4G connectivity, integrated 64GB storage and 940nm no-glow infrared illumination to become HIKMICRO's most advanced trail camera in the series. With switchable 60° and 100° viewing angles, a 25m detection range and a 0.4-second trigger speed, it provides greater flexibility and faster response than previous models. Wi-Fi live preview, HIKMICRO Sight App integration, and HikZone support simplify setup, management and remote monitoring.
What's new?
The T16 is HIKMICRO's most advanced trail camera to date, introducing several upgrades over the M15. The most significant addition is the new Dual-FOV lens system, which allows users to switch between a 60° and a wider 100° view directly in the app. This upgrade makes the camera noticeably more adaptable to different monitoring locations. Several practical upgrades have also been introduced. The T16 includes 64GB of built-in storage, eliminating the need for a separate SD card, while Wi-Fi live preview lets the camera's position and framing be checked directly on a smartphone during setup. Trigger speed improves from 0.5 seconds to 0.4 seconds, helping capture fast-moving wildlife more consistently. Combined with HikZone integration and expanded app functionality, the T16 delivers a more connected monitoring experience with fewer compromises during installation and long-term deployment.
Dual-FOV imaging system
The T16 uses a dual-field-of-view optical system that allows users to switch between a focused 60° view and an ultra-wide 100° view. This system gives the camera greater flexibility than fixed-angle trail cameras, allowing coverage to be tailored to the environment. The narrower 60° setting concentrates coverage on specific locations such as game trails, feeding stations or gateways, while the wider 100° setting captures broader areas where movement patterns are less predictable. Because the field of view can be adjusted through the app, users can adapt coverage without physically relocating the camera. This allows a single camera position to support multiple monitoring requirements.
Fast detection and responsive triggering
The T16 combines dual PIR motion sensors with a 25m detection range and a 0.4-second trigger speed. Together, these technologies allow the camera to identify movement quickly and initiate image capture with minimal delay. The dual PIR sensors also help improve motion detection accuracy, reducing false triggers caused by environmental movement. Once motion is detected, the fast trigger response increases the likelihood of capturing wildlife before it exits the frame. This is particularly useful when monitoring active animal routes or areas where subjects move rapidly through the detection zone. Paired with burst capture modes that support one, two, or three images per trigger, the T16 improves flexibility in documenting movement patterns and animal behaviour.
940nm no-glow infrared night vision
Two integrated 940nm infrared LEDs provide discreet night-time illumination. Unlike visible infrared flash systems, 940nm no-glow LEDs remain effectively invisible to wildlife and people. The camera automatically switches between colour capture during daylight hours and black-and-white infrared imaging after dark. This allows monitoring to continue around the clock without requiring user intervention. Combined with audio-enabled video recording, the T16 provides valuable visual and environmental context.
4G connectivity and remote monitoring
Designed for a convenient, straightforward user experience, the T16 integrates 4G connectivity with an embedded multi-roaming SIM card. This connectivity allows images and videos to be transmitted remotely through supported mobile networks. Users can manage transmission settings, monitor data usage, browse media and check camera status through the HIKMICRO Sight App. Remote access reduces the need for regular site visits, helping minimise disturbance in monitored areas while saving time during long-term deployments. The camera also supports secure cloud services, encrypted data transmission and European-hosted storage infrastructure, helping protect media and user information when operating remotely.
HIKMICRO Sight App and HikZone integration
The HIKMICRO Sight App is the main platform for controlling the T16. Through the app, users can adjust camera settings, manage data plans, browse captured content and configure transmission behaviour. Wi-Fi live preview lets users view the camera's field of view directly on a smartphone during installation. This simplifies positioning and reduces setup time by allowing framing adjustments without repeatedly checking the camera itself. HikZone integration also adds map-based management functions, helping users organise camera locations, monitor coverage areas and manage multiple cameras through a single ecosystem.
Storage and power flexibility
With 64GB of built-in EMMC storage, the T16 removes the need for a separate SD card. This simplifies setup and ensures the camera is ready to deploy without additional storage media. It also eliminates the risk of SD card-related issues in the field, such as card failure, accidental removal or compatibility problems during installation. This version comes with two 18650 battery compartments and uses four compatible 18650 batteries per camera for power. The battery compartment can be exchanged with the optional AA version, enabling support for twelve AA batteries when required. For extended deployments, the camera also supports external 12V/2A DC power and optional solar charging solutions. This flexibility allows users to tailor power systems to deployment length, accessibility and maintenance schedules.
Rugged outdoor construction
The T16 features an IP66-rated weather-resistant housing designed for continuous outdoor operation. The sealed construction helps protect internal electronics from rain, dust and changing environmental conditions. Operating temperatures from -20°C to 55°C support year-round deployment across a wide range of climates. Despite its robust construction, the camera weighs just 475g without batteries and measures 179.5 × 120.3 × 85.0mm, making installation straightforward in woodland, agricultural and remote monitoring locations.
