The Insta360 Link can shoot up to 4K ultra high definition footage at 30fps and features an f1.8 aperture and 100-3200 ISO range. When shooting at 1080p or 720p resolutions, HDR can be activated to perfectly balance highlights and shadows, making sure background objects aren’t overexposed by windows.

Thanks to Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) technology, the focus shifts rapidly so the person or object is always in focus even after moving positions. The Insta360 Link can also stream uncropped 9:16 portrait video. This creates an optimal viewing experience for audiences using mobile devices. There are multiple mounting options too for creating the perfect setup. A built-in clip allows immediate mounting on computer monitors and a ¼” mounting point allows the Insta360 Link to be used with additional tripods and accessories.

Practical Features and Modes

This AI-powered webcam has an array of features and modes that makes life easier when filming or making video calls. The Link’s 3-axis gimbal allows the AI to track movement and keep the subject in the frame without needing to manually move the webcam. Gestures made in front of the lens can remotely control the webcam, to either enable or disable AI tracking, adjust the zoom, or enter or exit Whiteboard Mode.

There are multiple modes that can adapt the webcam for different needs. DeskView Mode faces the camera down at a 45° angle to show your desk - perfect for teachers or practical presenters. Whiteboard Mode detects and enhances whiteboard displays when using the included recognition markers. Privacy Mode points the lens downwards when the webcam detects 10 seconds of inactivity and an Overhead Mode shows documents at a level 90° angle when using an additional stand.

Link Controller Software

Packaged for free with the Insta360 Link is the Insta360 Link Controller software. Compatible with Windows and Mac systems, this desktop software allows greater control over the webcam to get the perfect shot. Advanced settings allow you to adjust tracking speed, framing, auto exposure, white balance, and autofocus. There is also a dedicated Gimbal Control menu where you can save up to 6 preset positions for quickly swapping camera positions during a video call or live stream. A Toolbar Mode can also be activated to make quick adjustments or even switch modes during calls.
