FAQs:

How is the film to be stored?

Store the unexposed film in its original packaging in a cool, dry place, preferably at 21-degree Celsius or lower. If it is to be stored for extended periods, then a temperature of 13-degree Celsius is recommended. The exposed film can also be stored in the same conditions, but it is recommended to process it as soon as possible after exposure. Keep the processed negatives away from light.

What is a colour negative film?

Colour negative film is also known as a print film which is easily and widely available. This film gets developed into an orange-tinted negative where the colours are inverted.

How can the film be scanned?

The Pro Portra 160 film negatives can easily be scanned with a variety of scanners like PMT, area-array-CCD, and linear-array-CCD scanners. Desktop scanners and high-end drum scanners can also be used for scanning, where the output depends on the scanner’s sensitivity to the film’s dyes.

Which development process is used?

The colour negative films use the standard C-41 development process, using the Kodak Flexicolor chemicals with varying replenishment and wash rates.

Can the film be used with filters?

This print film can be used with filters, although it is not recommended to change the film-speed setting when you are metering through a filter. This might affect the accuracy of the light metre.
