The Lee SW150 Neutral Density (ND) Grad Medium Filter Set contains three 150 x 170mm graduated resin filters (0.3, 0.6 and 0.9) that enable the photographer to adjust exposure (by 1, 2, and 3 stops) over part of the photograph without affecting the colour balance. These ND grads feature a medium transition from dark to light and are ideal for use when elements of the scene protrude into the sky, be that the rooftops of buildings or the peaks of mountains. The nature of the transition between coated and uncoated areas of the filter means that the sky can be filtered with minimal impact on the land beneath it. The Lee SW150 Filter Holder and Adapter Ring are required, not included.

LEE Filters - SW150 System Overview with Joe Cornish
When to use Medium Neutral Density Grads?
Filter the sky with minimal impact on the land. Ideal when elements like rooftops and mountains protrude into the sky.
Neutral Density Grads
The LEE Filters range of Neutral Density (ND) Graduated Filters enable the photographer to selectively adjust exposure across the frame without affecting colour balance. They are almost an essential in modern landscape photography on both digital and film cameras. They come in a range of strengths denoting the light stopping power of the filter and a range of gradations between the dark and clear areas of the filter. Together these enable light control and creative flexibility in a wide range of situations.
New ND grad filters
All LEE Filters ND grads are made by hand, using technology that ensures the line of transition between the coated and clear areas of the filter is extremely precise. As a result, we have been able to expand the range of ND grads available to photographers using the Seven5, 100mm and SW150 fi lter systems. Now, alongside the traditional hard and soft gradations, photographers can also choose very hard and medium gradations, giving more control than ever when it comes to balancing exposures in-camera.
Precision
Our skilled UK team gradually builds up the ND gradation by dipping optically correct resin in baths of dye and continuously monitoring the results. Each filter represents up to an hour of skilled work.
Range
Because of our exacting process we are able to create four different gradations to give photographers complete creative control.
The LEE SW150 Mark II Filter System
This innovative system means it's now possible to use filters with a more extensive range of ultra-wideangle lenses than ever before. Landscape photographers have long understood the benefits of ultra-wideangle lenses, but their design constraints made the use of filters virtually impossible. Now, the SW150 Mark II filter system opens up opportunities for the creative use of filters, without the need to be concerned about vignetting.
The SW150 Mark II filter holder is compatible with our new SW150 polariser, Little Stopper, Big Stopper & Super Stoppers as well as SW150 neutral density graduated and standard filters.
Lens compatibility:
Custom Adaptor for Each Lens - The SW150 Mark II fits via a lens adaptor that has been specifically designed for that particular lens (the adaptor is purchased separately from the filter holder). Each adaptor consists of a front ring, a compression ring and a locking ring. When fitted, these form a collar that remains on the lens at all times.
