Lee SW150 Super Stopper

The Lee SW150 150x150mm Super Stopper ND glass filter reduces the amount of light entering the lens by 15 stops. Its 4.5 density and 32,000 (15 stop) filter factor means that an ordinary 2-second exposure will take over 17 hours to expose through the filter, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed in bright daylight. By greatly extending exposure times the Super Stopper has the effect of allowing anything that is moving in your image to become blurred or ghost-like (e.g. clouds, water, people, traffic, etc.). Compatible with the Lee SW150 Filter Holder (not included).

Lee Stopper filters are used for extending exposure times which has the effect of making anything that is moving become blurred or ghost like, for example clouds, waterfalls, rivers or the sea. Used creativity they can change the way we look at moving objects and capture a real sense of time passing in your images. Stoppers are not limited to landscapes and can be used to blur crowds of people, traffic, or anything in motion.

The Super Stopper is designed for use in bright conditions during the middle of the day - a time that's traditionally considered unsuitable for photography because of the harsh, contrasty nature of the light. However, with the Super Stopper filter fitted, the softness that arises from any movement contrasts pleasingly with any areas of bright light, creating an effect rarely seen in photography before now. Like all the filters in the Stopper family, the Super Stopper is constructed from the high-quality optical glass and is supplied in a metal case for protection. It has only a minimal colour cast that is easily corrected in postproduction.
