The NanLite Pico Magnetic Eggcrate is a compact light control modifier designed for the Pico LED Mini Pocket Light, tightening its beam from 45° to a more focused 27°. It clips on magnetically and keeps light contained, making it easier to place illumination precisely on a subject without affecting the surrounding scene, which is particularly useful when working in tight spaces or controlling contrast on location.

FAQs:
How much does the eggcrate change the light output?
It doesn’t change the power of the light, but it concentrates it. By narrowing the beam from 45° to 27°, the light becomes more directional, so it appears more focused on your subject while reducing illumination elsewhere.
Is it quick to attach and remove during a shoot?
Yes, it uses a magnetic attachment that snaps straight into place. There’s no need for clips or alignment, so you can fit or remove it in seconds when adjusting your lighting setup.
What scenarios is this eggcrate useful for?
It’s useful for controlling light spill, especially in small spaces or when working close to backgrounds. It helps keep light off walls or props and lets you shape contrast more deliberately.
Does it add noticeable weight or bulk to the Pico light?
No, it weighs just 34.9g (1.23 oz) and is very compact. It doesn’t change how the light handles, so you can keep the Pico as a small, pocketable source even with it attached.
