The included MA 1 measurement microphone ensures the best possible sound quality for in-home studios or professional control rooms. It is an individually calibrated measuring microphone that analyses an acoustic environment in a guided process. The advanced calibration algorithms, jointly developed with the Fraunhofer IIS, provide amplitude and phase correction. The MA 1 kit is tailor-made for Neumann studio monitors and can be used with stereo sets of KH 80 DSP monitors and non-DSP KH-series monitors. It comes with calibration software that handles the amplitude, frequency, and time-alignment issues according to a room-specific target curve.

KH 750 DSP-powered Subwoofer

The KH 750 DSP-controlled subwoofer is specifically designed to complement small room/small studio monitoring systems. Featuring a flexible 2.0/1.0 Bass Manager, this subwoofer ensures an optimal summation of the alignment process in low frequencies. It enables the use of stereo sets of analogue KH-line monitors with the Automatic Monitor Alignment Software. It provides enough processing power to align an entire system including two analogue loudspeakers. The phase linearization of the built-in crossover filters of the KH 120, KH 420, and KH 310 results in a dry bass, increased clarity and a time-accurate depiction of acoustic spaces.

Easy Installation

The guided process of this room correction system measures and analyses the respective listening environment and stores the resulting data within the DSP-powered monitors. This eliminates any use of plug-ins, drivers or additional cables. No special acoustic knowledge is required for the setup and the DSP-based KH monitors can be connected to the computer’s ethernet port. The ethernet connections too are not required once the alignment process is completed. The software ascertains the room’s acoustic properties from the measured data and the target curve can be modified as per specific needs.

The software requirements for the MA 1 kit are ASIO driver (for Windows), Windows 10 64-bit and macOS 10.13/10.14/10.15 operating system, and the Neumann Automatic Monitor Alignment Software.

Which all loudspeakers are compatible with MA 1?

The KH 80 DSP loudspeaker and the KH 750 DSP subwoofer are network-enabled compatible DSP loudspeakers that can be controlled directly by the software. The following analogue loudspeakers are not network-enabled: KH 120 A, KH 120 D, KH 310 A, KH 310 D, KH 420/KH 420 + DIM 1. These need to be connected via a network-enabled subwoofer to be included in the setup.

What is the pickup pattern of the microphone?
