The Nikon 400mm f2.8 AF-S E FL ED VR Lens is a professional FX-format super-telephoto prime lens ideal for sports and news photographers who demand top performance. The lens boasts a professional-grade dust and moisture construction, a bright f/2.8 maximum aperture, a fast auto-focus system (AF-S) and Nikon's new Sport Vibration Reduction (VR) mode to deliver exceptional image quality, speed and accuracy. The newly designed optical construction incorporates 16 elements in 12 groups, including two fluorite and two ED elements. Using fluorite for the front two elements reduces the weight (820g lighter than its predecessor) in the front part of the lens and shifts its centre of gravity to the rear, ensuring comfortable handling and stable operation. Additional features include a professional-grade dust and moisture resistant construction, bearings in the tripod collar ring, a one-piece reversible lens hood and an integrated tripod foot that now faces the front of the lens.

High optical performance
Two fluorite and two ED (extra-low dispersion) glass elements ensure minimal chromatic aberration. The lens boasts a drop-in filter holder and is supplied with an NC filter.

Reduces ghosting and flare for greater image clarity, even in backlit situations.
Electromagnetic diaphragm
Enables consistent exposures during high-speed bursts.
Vibration Reduction (VR)
With SPORT mode. VR minimises camera shake and lets you shoot at shutter speeds up to four stops slower.¹ SPORT VR mode delivers a stable viewfinder image when shooting high-speed movement, and allows a continuous shooting frame rate and release time lag similar to those that are possible when VR is turned off.
Tripod mount ring
Bearings improve durability and ensure smooth switching between horizontal and vertical orientation.
Fluorine coating
Actively repels water, dust, and dirt without compromising image quality. The coating is applied to the meniscus protective glass on the front element of the lens.
Robust and light
Fluorite elements help reduce the weight of this super-telephoto lens to just 3800 g (approx.). The body boasts a professional-grade dust- and moisture-resistant construction.
Ergonomic tripod foot
Faces the front of the lens for more comfortable transportation when the lens is attached to a monopod. An anti-theft security slot keeps the lens secure.
One-piece hood
The hood can be flipped and reversed, allowing it to remain attached to the lens during transportation.
Included case
The sturdy CT-405 trunk case comes with the lens for convenient, safe transportation.

Buy now pay later
The Buy Now Pay Later option comprises a 36 month loan following a six month deferral period.
During the six-month deferral period, it is possible to pay off the loan, either by way of a lump sum or in smaller amounts. If the loan is partially repaid within six months, the remaining interest will be adjusted to reflect the new balance. If the loan is fully repaid within the six-month deferral period, then no interest is payable, however, a £29 early settlement fee is payable in respect of repayments within these six months.
Following the six-month deferral period, Novuna Personal Finance will initiate a monthly direct debit payment for the remaining duration of the loan. Interest will be charged at a rate of 18.9% APR on outstanding balances (backdated to the first date of the loan). Novuna Personal Finance will send a reminder letter approximately one month before the six-month deferral period is due to elapse.
