The Nikon P7100 Digital Camera builds upon the success of the still popular, well received P7000. The P7100 is the perfect companion for any enthusiast wanting advanced functions and similar performance found in an SLR but in a pocket able sized form. Packed inside the large 10.1 megapixel camera is a wide-angle 7.1x zoom equivalent to 28-200mm on a 35mm format, RAW file format, Anti-blur technology, fast EXPEED C2 processing system, quick response and full manual controls. Involving similar key features to the P7000, however the P7100 has been upgraded with the addition of faster autofocus speeds, improved image quality, reduced time lag, and quicker start up times to ensure a moment isn't missed. Whether you're taking stills or filming in advanced HD, the tilting, high resolution 3inch LCD monitor makes shooting at difficult angles an easy and comfortable process.
Key features of the Nikon P7100
Large 1/1.7-inch, 10 megapixel CCD image sensor lets you capture outstandingly detailed images, crop creatively and produce stunningly-sharp poster-size enlargements.
Tilting, high resolution 7.5 cm (3-in.) 921k-dot LCD monitor: lets you shoot from unusual angles or tricky vantage points. Offers 100% RGB color reproduction and high contrast ratio. Boasts Nikon’s Clear Color Display technology that minimizes reflections, even in bright sunlight.
NIKKOR wide-angle 7.1x zoom lens with two ED glass elements to minimize chromatic aberration and a Neutral Density filter for greater exposure control. Offers outstanding precision, sharp resolution and high contrast even in low-light. (35mm film-format equivalent: 28-200mm).
Fast EXPEED C2 image processing system provides enhanced image quality and movie recording, and delivers superb sensitivity performance with reduced noise, even at high ISO.
Quick response for streamlined workflow and stress-free shooting. Switches quickly between functions, and offers a near-instant start up time, impressive AF speed and short shutter release time-lag.
Advanced HD (720p) movie capabilities: optical zoom and autofocus are available during recording at a rate of 24fps. You can set the white balance before recording and an AE (Auto Exposure) lock lets you set your preferred autoexposure whenever you want. Supports use of an external microphone and features a built-in HDMI connector with HDMI-CEC support for output to an HDTV.
Anti-blur technology automatically counters blurred images in four different ways. Lens-shift VR (Vibration Reduction) reduces the effect of camera shake. High ISO (up to 3200 and 12800 in low noise night mode) light sensitivity reduces the risk of blurred images with fast-moving subjects or in low-light. Motion detection compensates for camera and subject movement. Best Shot Selector (BSS) automatically selects the sharpest of up to 10 sequential shots.
Front and rear command dials offer easy access to key camera settings and smooth manual control.
RAW format shooting: images can be shot and saved in high-quality NRW format, even when using in-camera features such as continuous shooting and Picture Controls.
Special effects shooting mode. Lets you shoot still images using a special effect, including: Cross Processing that manipulates the colors for images with dramatic color shifts, and increased contrast and saturation; Selective Color that lets you emphasize a color of your choice and turns the rest of the image to monochrome. You can review your choice of effect on the LCD screen before shooting.
Full manual control: controls include a customizable zoom memory that lets you preset up to 6 different focal lengths and then switch quickly between them, as if using interchangeable lenses.
Virtual Horizon: appears over the image on the LCD monitor so you can confirm the camera's position relative to the horizontal plane in real-time.
Compatible with Eye-Fi cards for direct transmission to smart phones and SD, SDHC, SDXC and UHS-1 memory cards.
