FAQs:
Are the Prostaff P7 10x50 binoculars a good choice for birding and general outdoor use?
Yes. The 10x magnification gives enough reach for birding, wildlife, and distant landscape viewing without becoming as demanding to hold steady as higher-powered binoculars. The 50mm objective lenses also help keep the image bright in the early morning, late afternoon, or under dull skies. They suit general outdoor use very well, especially if you want a single binocular that covers a range of situations.
What is the benefit of the locking diopter ring?
The locking diopter ring lets you set the binocular to match your eyesight and then keep that setting from shifting accidentally. That is especially useful if you carry the binoculars in a bag, use them in rougher conditions, or share them between several people. It is the sort of detail that saves time and frustration because you are not constantly checking whether your setting has moved. It is also a feature more commonly found in higher-spec binoculars.
How do they perform in poor weather or changing temperatures?
They are built for outdoor use, with a waterproof construction and nitrogen filling to help prevent internal fogging. That means they cope better when moving from a warm car into cold air or when used in damp, unsettled weather. Nikon also adds rubber armouring for grip and impact protection, which helps when conditions are slippery. They are not intended for underwater use but are designed to withstand outdoor conditions.
Are they comfortable to use with glasses?
Yes. The 19.3mm eye relief is generous and gives most glasses wearers a better chance of seeing the full field comfortably. Nikon also uses turn-and-slide eyecups, so it is easy to set the viewing position properly for use with or without spectacles. That makes a noticeable difference in longer sessions, where comfort matters just as much as image quality.
What makes the optics in the Prostaff P7 10x50 stand out?
Nikon uses fully multicoated lenses, along with phase-corrected and dielectric-coated roof prisms, to improve brightness, contrast, and colour fidelity. They provide a cleaner, sharper image with less glare and better colour separation. The oil- and water-repellent coating on the outer lens surfaces is also genuinely useful, because it makes moisture, fingerprints, and smudges easier to wipe away.

The Buy Now Pay Later option comprises a 36 month loan following a six month deferral period.
During the six-month deferral period, it is possible to pay off the loan, either by way of a lump sum or in smaller amounts. If the loan is partially repaid within six months, the remaining interest will be adjusted to reflect the new balance. If the loan is fully repaid within the six-month deferral period, then no interest is payable, however, a £29 early settlement fee is payable in respect of repayments within these six months.
Following the six-month deferral period, Novuna Personal Finance will initiate a monthly direct debit payment for the remaining duration of the loan. Interest will be charged at a rate of 18.9% APR (representative) on outstanding balances (backdated to the first date of the loan). Novuna Personal Finance will send a reminder letter approximately one month before the six-month deferral period is due to elapse.
