Designed for professionals, the Z7 II builds on the solid foundations of its predecessor. User feedback dictated how Nikon approached this camera and with that, they made improvements and upgrades that elevate this camera to an even higher standard. To provide increased productivity and professionalism whilst shooting, they added dual EXPEED 6 image-processing engines which significantly increase the speed of which the Z7 II can operate. They vastly improved the autofocusing system, working on the AF detection and tracking performance as well as upgrading the eye, face and animal AF for both video and stills. As well as this, the Z7 II has much higher frame rates which allow for confident shooting, without fear of missing a frame. A much-requested feature that's been added to this system is the addition of a second card slot. Yes - The Z7 II features one slot for XQD & UHS-II SD cards as well as a second slot for ultra-fast CFexpress memory cards. This camera is set to impress any working professional.

Expanded Nikon Z7 II Mirrorless Camera Body Key Features:
Never Miss A Shot
Nikon's Z7 II camera body sees huge improvements in speed and overall performance. The Z7 II is equipped with two EXPEED 6 image-processing engines which will transform the camera's ability to process its 4K60p video and 45.7 megapixel still images. It has an upgraded, super-high refresh rate which enables the seamless and accurate capture of large image bursts without you missing a vital shot. The faster, high-performance buffer allows you to capture up to 200 JPEGs or 50/112 12-bit uncompressed RAW images in a single burst at a max of 10fps. The dual imaging engines can process the images with lightning speed, writing image data without slowing you or the camera down, allowing you to inspect your shots or be ready for the next sequence at a moment's notice.
Dual Card Slots
A much-requested feature from user feedback of Nikon Z7 body was that it needed an extra card slot. Having a single slot was seen to be limiting to some users and Nikon heard this and took it on board. The Z7 II is packed with power; the huge 45.7-megapixel sensor, the dual EXPEED 6 image processors and more. It needed to allow its users the freedom of extra space and customisable workflows.
Nikon has equipped the Z7 II with two card slots. One UHS-II compatible SD card slot and the other is designed for use with XQD cards or ultra-fast CFexpress memory cards. Using these two slots, users can utilise faster performance as well as offering that customisable workflow. You can separate stills and video footage, or RAW and JPEG images and you can copy files between cards or even configure slots for overflow or backup.
Low-Light Capture
Nikon's mirrorless digital cameras are designed for shooting in all lighting conditions. The light-gathering capabilities of the Z7 II allow you to create stunning images or video footage when light begins to fade or if shooting at night. The Z7 II features a wide and versatile 64-25600 ISO sensitivity range which when combined with the large full-frame sensor and dual EXPEED 6 image processors, you'll be able to capture virtually grain-free images, no matter the lighting conditions. This combination of functions and hardware allow you the freedom to pick out the subtleties of shadows and darker areas of your frame.
Enhanced Autofocus
The Z7 II's autofocusing system has been enhanced and upgraded over its predecessor. It features an ultra-wide 493 AF points covering 90% of the entire frame and which paired with Nikon's Z mount lenses, you'll be able to accurately track across the frame and detect subjects when they enter the frame. This is achieved by the hybrid autofocus system that uses phase-detection/contrast autofocus with AF assist as well having a sensitivity -3 to +19 EV (with low-light AF of -4 to +19 EV).
Another piece of feedback that came back from users of the Z6 is the camera eye/face detection, which was later addressed with a firmware update. Nikon took on board the comments and enhanced this function, The Z7 II's intelligent eye-detection can find and lock onto your subject's eye and is user-customisable so you can choose which eye is detected etc. The can is also able to utilise the eye-detection with groups of people, too! This system is also designed so that focus will be maintained even if your subject's eye is briefly obstructed.
When it comes to face-detection, Nikon has upgraded the tracking so that it takes less time to find and then maintain focus of faces. The upgraded system also means that the camera will detect faces when you have fast-moving subjects, which is particularly useful for sports photography or if recording video footage.
Professional Video
Nikon's Z7 II is capable of great things and one of those is its ability to capture stunning video footage. This is a true hybrid camera. The Z7 II's impressive full-frame sensor and full pixel readout provide a wide dynamic range and pin-sharp 4K UHD filming at 60p. It'll capture full HD,120p slow-motion and has an intelligent time-lapse feature. It also has various time codes, logarithmic (N-Log), HDR (HLG) movie output and flexible frame rates which increase your options and allow you to output footage in any way you require. Nikon's improvements to colour grading also provide versatility in your shooting. You can record in 10-bit which provides billions of more colours over standard 8-bit recording. In addition, you can record 10-bit output directly to an external recorder via the camera's HDMI port.
Alternatively, the Z7 II offers you the choice to remove lengthy colour grading and allows you to shoot video footage ready for instant playback on HDR monitors. The HLG shooting formats retain more detail, contrast and dynamic range. The goal of this function is to enable immediate and high-quality footage without the need for post-processing, allowing you to share your footage directly to your clients.
Strong Image Stabilisation
Like the Z7, the Z7 II has the same strong and stable 5-Axis Vibration Reduction. Naturally, this image stabilisation helps you to capture sharp, shake-free photographs and steady video footage. As well as this, the VR allows you to shoot images at five stops slower than standard shooting, delivering clearer images in low-light situations. There's also the Sport Mode which offers a stable viewfinder image for when you're capturing exceptionally fast-moving subjects e.g. at sports events or when photographing wildlife.
