FAQs:
How does image stabilisation help during real-world observation?
Image stabilisation becomes especially noticeable when using higher magnification or observing from an exposed viewpoint. It reduces the slight hand movements that typically soften thermal detail, helping outlines stay clear and easier to interpret. This is useful when tracking animals that pause briefly before moving again. It also makes longer viewing sessions less tiring.
What advantage does the wide field of view offer in the field?
The 17.5° field of view allows you to observe a broader area without constant panning. This makes it easier to locate animals as they naturally move through a scene, rather than having to scan back and forth. Once a subject is found, magnification can be increased while retaining good detail. It suits open landscapes and woodland edges alike.
How accurate is the built-in laser rangefinder?
The laser rangefinder measures distances up to 1500m with an accuracy of ±1m. It can operate in single-measurement or continuous scanning modes, depending on how you prefer to observe. This helps maintain distance from wildlife and better understand the landscape's scale. The readout integrates cleanly into the viewing experience.
Can images and videos be saved and shared easily?
Yes. The Ventex XT50 records still images and video with audio directly to its 64GB internal memory. Files can also be transferred wirelessly using the Wild Vision app for viewing or sharing on a mobile device. Image stabilisation helps keep recorded footage clear when reviewing later.
