RICOH THETA V - 4K movie sample (Underwater)
2 image sensors, a high performance processing engine, and more
2 x 1/2.3” (6.2 x 4.6 mm) image sensors with high-speed read out capability are situated on the right and left sides of the camera body to capture high quality 4K/30fps spherical video, an upgrade from the previous 2K Theta video standard that brings more depth and colour.
The main processing engine, ‘Snapdragon’ by Qualcomm, is newly adopted for the Theta V. Known for its advanced video data processing, it contributes to many other improvements such as increased processing speed of still image, high-speed wireless data transfer, feature expansion, and power saving.
The quality of top/bottom slant correction is also improved by a new gyroscopic sensor.
Shutter speed, ISO Sensitivity
With a top shutter speed of 1/25000 sec (Theta S: 1/6400 sec), the Theta V’s still image shooting capability has been comparatively improved.
In Auto Mode the ISO is 1600, which is as same as the Theta S, but in Manual Mode the ISO can be set to 3200. With this change, Theta V demonstrates improved ability to capture night-time scenes. Even so, an improvement to the processing algorithm means that even at same ISO, the Theta V’s image quality is better than the Theta S.
State-of-the-Art Image Processing Technology
Automatic Exposure accuracy has been improved, reducing under- and over-exposure in high-contrast scenes. Even in dark and/or interior situations, content is shot with the appropriate exposure.
The white balance algorithm is updated, tuned for more accuracy and natural colouring.
Image processing is designed to achieve high resolution, suitable for viewing your content on big monitors. Colour reproduction is generally optimised for a realistic VR experience.
Alongside the image processing improvements, the shooting interval has been shortened to 4 sec from 8 sec. This results in improvements for time-lapse movie creation.
Data transfer speed up to 2.5 times faster
With improvements to the wireless communication module, communication speed is drastically increased. As well as the imaging process speed, the transfer speed of both still and video are extremely fast.
4-channel 360° spatial audio
Previously, the VR experience which Theta could offer was monaural and highly image-dependent.
With the Theta V, because it can record 360° spatial audio, the sound and the image are linked as a spherical video for a full, immersive VR experience.
World’s first consumer remote playback
The Theta V itself can play video and show still images by ‘throwing’ content onto TVs and projectors using Miracast wireless display adapters.

Can I repay early? If so how?
No repayments are scheduled in the initial six-month deferral period. However, it is possible to pay off the loan, either by way of a lump sum or in smaller amounts. If the loan is fully repaid within the six-month deferral period, then no interest is payable, but a £29.00 early-settlement will be incurred. Such repayments may be made to Barclays Partner Finance by cheque, debit card or standing order. Unfortunately it is not possible to set up a direct debit within the deferral period. Further information on how to make such repayments will be set out in the loan agreement pack provided by Barclays Partner Finance.
What happens if I don't repay within the first six months (deferral period)?
Following the six month deferral period, Barclays Partner Finance will initiate a monthly direct debit payment for the remaining duration of the loan. Interest will be charged at a rate of 19.9% APR on outstanding balances (backdated to the first date of the loan). Late payment penalties and early repayment charges will apply from this point. Barclays Partner Finance will send a reminder letter approximately one month before the six month deferral period is due to elapse. Note: If you chose to spread the cost and pay monthly, interest is charged from the start of the loan, not from the start of the repayment period.
What will I receive from the finance provider (lender)?
Barclays Partner Finance will send a loan agreement pack approximately four weeks after delivery of the goods, confirming that the account has been activated and, from this point, it is possible to make repayments against the loan. You will also receive reminder letters and text at the end of the deferral period to remind you when your first payment is due.
