FAQs:
How directional is the SR-SG in use?
The supercardioid polar pattern provides a focused forward pickup, allowing the microphone to prioritise sound directly in front of it. Off-axis audio is reduced while remaining natural in character, supporting controlled ambience without abrupt tonal changes.
Can the microphone handle loud recording conditions?
Yes, with a maximum SPL of 128 dB, it accommodates high sound pressure levels without distortion. This allows it to maintain clarity in louder environments such as events or busy exterior locations.
Is the self-noise suitable for quiet recordings?
The 80 dB signal-to-noise ratio supports clean recording in quieter conditions. It allows for consistent signal capture without introducing noticeable background noise when gain is applied.
What are the power and connection requirements?
The SR-SG requires 48 V phantom power and connects via a standard 3-pin XLR interface. This ensures compatibility with a wide range of professional cameras, recorders, and audio mixers.
Is it suitable for outdoor use?
The microphone operates within a temperature range of -20°C to 50°C and features a durable all-brass construction. The included foam windscreen provides basic protection against light wind during outdoor.
