Shure’s MV88-USBC offers a convenient way to record quick voice notes, mobile video, or ambient travel audio thanks to its direct USB-C connectivity. This convenient plug-and-play design eliminates lengthy pairing procedures, battery management, and wireless dropout. The physical connection also keeps latency low for monitoring and avoids the level shifts that make recording more challenging with wireless models.

Adjustable pickup for changing environments

With a mid-side condenser, the MV88 USB-C allows users to adjust the width or focus of their recording. Stereo width can be narrowed for controlled ambience or widened for music and environmental sounds. The mono cardioid pattern is better suited to voice and vlogging, while the bidirectional pattern works well for face-to-face interviews. A raw mid-side capture also gives users extra control later if they want to shape the stereo image in post.

Consistent levels and cleaner speech

Auto Level Mode reacts in real time, pulling back loud moments and lifting quieter passages without obvious pumping. It is especially helpful when recording spoken word on a phone, where distance and volume often change mid-take. The real-time denoiser focuses on speech frequencies, helping reduce background noise before it reaches the recording, rather than relying on heavy processing later.

Finetune in Shure MOTIV apps

When users need greater control, the Shure MOTIV mobile and desktop apps let you adjust gain, limiter, compression strength, five-band EQ, and high-pass filtering. These settings are applied before audio is recorded, keeping files clean and predictable. Presets provide a fast starting point, but everything can be tuned to match your voice or recording space.
