The Sky-Watcher SynScan StarWand can be aimed anywhere in the sky to command a SynScan AZ, EQ or AZ-EQ mount (provided it has a SynScan handset fitted) to automatically move to that position. It comes with a pointing device and a Wi-Fi adaptor that plugs into the aforementioned SynScan handset. To precisely locate the desired object; you will have to make slewing adjustments with the handset controls. This is a fun, rewarding and educational system as you have to navigate to the final object yourself. The StarWand is capable of commanding more than one mount at the same time with extra StarWand Wi-Fi adaptors. It is compatible with SynScan V3, V4 and V5 handsets. Please note that for V3/V4 firmware updates may be required. This is a class 2 laser product and requires one 18650 rechargeable lithium-ion battery and a battery charger which are sold separately.
