FAQs

What is the purpose of the AirTag slot?

The integrated slot in the cage base holds an Apple AirTag, allowing users to track or locate their camera via the Find My app — a practical safeguard during travel or production work.

Does the cage obstruct access to the battery or port?

No. A hinged side arm design provides easy access to the battery and all camera ports without removing the cage.

Which accessories can be mounted to the cage?

The cage includes multiple 1/4"-20 and ARRI 3/8"-16 threads, dual cold shoes, and a NATO rail for attaching monitors, microphones, side handles, or wireless transmitters.

Can I use this cage with a gimbal or a tripod?

Yes. The integrated Arca-type quick-release plate allows direct mounting to compatible tripods or gimbals without an additional plate.

What material is the cage made of?

This SmallRig cage is made from aluminium alloy and stainless steel, offering strength and protection while weighing just 188g.
