How bright is the SmallRig RC 100B?

The RC 100B produces 4610 lux at 1m when set to 5600K. When the 45° mini reflector is fitted, the narrower beam gathers the light forward and raises the output to 20100 lux at the same distance, which is helpful when the light is placed slightly back from a subject or when you need a harder key light before adding diffusion.

What colour temperature range does it cover?

The RC 100B covers a bi-colour range from 2700K to 6500K. Turning the setting warmer moves it towards tungsten-style room light, while cooler settings bring it closer to daylight. This means you can bring the fixture closer to the colour of existing lamps or window light before adjusting exposure. Its CRI 97+, TLCI 98+, SSI 91 at 3200K and TM-30 Rf/Rg values of 97/102 indicate strong colour reproduction from the supplied specifications.

How can the RC 100B be controlled?

You can control the RC 100B wirelessly via the SmallGoGo app or by hand using the 1.44-inch colour screen and two independent knobs. App control is best when the light is placed high, behind a diffuser, or away from the camera position, so you can change the output remotely. DMX wired control is also available with a separate adapter for more structured lighting setups. Four preset parameters can be stored, so regular settings can be recalled without having to rebuild them each time.

What power options does the Pro Version support?

The RC 100B can run wirelessly from V-mount or NP-F970 batteries, giving it freedom when mains power is not available close to the camera. It can also receive power via USB-C using accessories such as a power handle, a PD power bank, or a charging cable. For fixed setups, the power adapter connects to mains power and delivers full-power output. Does the light require any handling precautions?

Yes. After use, the COB LED beads, panel area, and the top and bottom of the unit may become hot. The heat dissipation holes should be kept clear while the light is running, because blocked airflow can impair the cooling system's ability to move heat away from the housing. You should also avoid staring directly at the COB LED beads for long periods. Let the unit fully cool before packing it away.
