Tamron's 60mm Macro Lens has been designed specifically for DSLRs with an APS-C sized sensor and is the first lens of this type with a maximum aperture of f/2. The lens can be used as close as 10cm away from the subject and, thanks to its internal focus mechanism, the front element does not move when focusing, so it is less likely to scare away the more flighty of macro subjects. The f/2 aperture gives a beautifully shallow depth of field and out of focus areas appear naturally soft. This characteristic combined with an equivalent focal length of 93mm means that the Tamron 60mm Macro also makes an excellent portrait lens. With 1:1 life-size reproduction opening up whole new worlds of photography, the Tamron SP AF 60mm f2 Di II LD (IF) Macro will be a welcome addition to any photographer's camera bag.
Technical Lens Terms:
Di II lenses are constructed for the exclusive use on digital SLR cameras with smaller-size imagers (not bigger than 16x24mm) and featuring optical systems optimized to meet the performance characteristics of digital SLR cameras including:
Macro photography is the reproduction of small objects from a magnification ratio of approx. 1:4 up to about 5:1 (at which point microphotography begins). Life-size, or 1:1 reproduction, means that the lens is able to project onto the image sensor (which corresponds to film in a film camera) an image of an object that is the same size as the object itself.
LD - Low Dispersion
LD Elements are produced of special glass materials which possess an extremely low color dispersion index (a unit which measures the ability of a glass to separate a beam of light in its spectral colors). LD elements compensate for chromatic aberration, which is particularly a problem with telephoto lenses. Chromatic aberration is a form of optical noise which reduces the sharpness and the brilliance of an image.
IF - Internal Focus
Lenses of customary design have a front lens group which shifts when focusing. Internal focus lenses reach the sharp position by shifting (an) inner lens element(s). Here Tamron has developed the so-called Integrated Focus Cam which allows quick and exact focusing. Moreover, the MFD can also be reduced with the internal focusing, as well as image defects like vignetting. Another advantage is the stationary focus-ring regardless of the zoom position. The front element of the lens also does not turn which is important when using filters which dependent on direction (e.g., polarization filters).

Can I repay early? If so how?
No repayments are scheduled in the initial six-month deferral period. However, it is possible to pay off the loan, either by way of a lump sum or in smaller amounts. If the loan is fully repaid within the six-month deferral period, then no interest is payable, but a £29.00 early-settlement will be incurred. Such repayments may be made to Barclays Partner Finance by cheque, debit card or standing order. Unfortunately it is not possible to set up a direct debit within the deferral period. Further information on how to make such repayments will be set out in the loan agreement pack provided by Barclays Partner Finance.
What happens if I don't repay within the first six months (deferral period)?
Following the six month deferral period, Barclays Partner Finance will initiate a monthly direct debit payment for the remaining duration of the loan. Interest will be charged at a rate of 19.9% APR on outstanding balances (backdated to the first date of the loan). Late payment penalties and early repayment charges will apply from this point. Barclays Partner Finance will send a reminder letter approximately one month before the six month deferral period is due to elapse. Note: If you chose to spread the cost and pay monthly, interest is charged from the start of the loan, not from the start of the repayment period.
What will I receive from the finance provider (lender)?
Barclays Partner Finance will send a loan agreement pack approximately four weeks after delivery of the goods, confirming that the account has been activated and, from this point, it is possible to make repayments against the loan. You will also receive reminder letters and text at the end of the deferral period to remind you when your first payment is due.
