Frequently Asked Questions
- Which photographer/filmmaker most inspires you, and why?
-
Reed Morano
- What is your most memorable shooting experience?
-
My first shoot as a DoP. I was able to work closely with the director to discuss the look and feel of the music video, which allowed me to elevate the director's vision, and introduce some new ideas and concepts that may not otherwise have been considered. I also managed the camera and lighting crew, which was a great challenge.
- What one piece of advice would you offer to people starting out in your industry?
-
Don't let budget limit your creativity.
- What is the best shooting tip you've ever received?
-
There are no rules.
There are so many videos out there that mislead people into thinking you have to do things a certain way but, outside of having a battery and card for your camera, there are no rules. Creativity knows no bounds, and it's only when you stop being restricted by other people's rules that you can let your imagination run wild.
