FAQs:
What type of work is the Deco Pro XLW best suited to?
The Deco Pro XLW suits illustration, photo retouching, design and editing where precision matters. The larger active area makes it easier to work at lower zoom levels and draw with your arm rather than just your wrist. This helps with smoother curves and more natural line flow. It is well-suited to studio and home desk setups.
How does the wireless performance feel during use?
The wireless connection is responsive and stable in day-to-day use, with no noticeable lag when drawing. It keeps the workspace uncluttered, which is useful when switching between the keyboard, tablet, and reference materials. Battery life supports long sessions without frequent charging. You can also use it wired if preferred.
What does the ACK05 remote add in practice?
The ACK05 remote provides physical shortcut buttons and a dial that you can assign to zoom, brush size, or canvas rotation. Having these controls off the tablet surface keeps your drawing hand free and reduces reliance on keyboard shortcuts. It is invaluable when working in full-screen mode or across multiple applications. The remote connects wirelessly and can be positioned anywhere on the desk.
How does the drawing surface feel compared to glass tablets?
The surface has a subtle texture that adds friction under the pen tip. This makes strokes feel more controlled than on smooth glass screens. It helps slow the pen slightly, which is helpful for clean line work and masking. The texture feels consistent across the whole active area.
Is the Deco Pro XLW portable?
While slim, the XLW is designed more for fixed desk use than travel. Its size favours comfort and accuracy over compactness. It fits nicely into a permanent workstation where you want space to work freely. For smaller setups, the medium sizes in the Deco Pro Gen 2 range may be easier to carry.
