Sanyo Xacti HD700 - Compact Design
The compact Xacti HD700 measures just 73.7 x 35 x 109 mm and weighs 189 g (body only), so is perfect for carrying everywhere you go. The Sanyo Xacti HD700 is shaped for comfortable one-handed shooting on the move.
Sanyo Xacti HD700 - Dynamic High-Definition Movies
HD movies on the Xacti HD700 are recorded in the high-compression MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format, which gives small movie files that are easy to upload to the web for podcasts or weblogs. An electronic image stabiliser helps keeps your movies smooth and steady, while the 5x optical zoom and 12x digital zoom let you zero in on the action while it's happening.
The supplied docking cradle gives you a raft of connection options. By connecting the unit (via USB) to an external hard disk, you can back up your movies and stills without having to access a PC. The cradle also sports HDMI and component video connections, for high-quality playback on a connected HDTV.
Sanyo Xacti HD700 - High-Quality, HD-Compatible Images via MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 Digital Recording
The Xacti HD700 adopts the MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format for high-compression recording. The resulting files are small in size, which makes them easier to handle and lets you record more minutes of high-quality video. Compared to DVD (MPEG-2), files are about half the size, yet picture quality is the same or better. The HD700 can also connect directly to a large-screen 16:9 HDTV and render images of such high quality that you can clearly see individual strands of hair and highly detailed patterns.Note: For HD movie playback, an HD-compatible TV is required.
Sanyo Xacti HD700 - Electronic Image Stabiliser for Movies
For movie recording, the Xacti HD700 employs a digital image stabiliser capable of accurately discerning unintentional camera shake from deliberate camera movements, such as pans and tilts. It corrects for unwanted shake without sacrificing the natural feel of recording clips.
Note: Using the electronic image stabiliser may change the angle of view.
Sanyo Xacti HD700 - 5x Optical Zoom Lens
The Xacti HD700 incorporates a high-performance 5x optical zoom lens with a maximum aperture of F3.5, allowing distant subjects and people to be captured beautifully. Up to 60x zooming is possible when the optical zoom is augmented by the 12x digital zoom.
Sanyo Xacti HD700 - Clearly Defined Movie Recording at Min. 5 Lux Illumination in High Sensitivity Mode
In high sensitivity mode, it’s possible to shoot down to such low illumination levels as 5 lux. This enables you to record images by candlelight or in other intimate, low-light scenes.
Sanyo Xacti HD700 - Large, Easy-to-View 2.7-Inch LCD Monitor
A large 2.7-inch wide TFT LCD monitor is built into the compact body. It enables you to see and confirm images before and after shooting. The monitor itself rotates approximately 285 degrees. It can be adjusted to suit your preferred shooting stance, whether you’re shooting at a high or low angle, or aiming at yourself. It enables you to see and confirm images before and after shooting.
Sanyo Xacti HD700 - Fast Startup from Standby
Closing the monitor while the Xacti HD700 is turned on automatically puts it into stand-by mode. Then, once the monitor is opened, the HD700 starts up and is ready for shooting straight away. By allowing you to skip the usual on/off process, the HD700 delivers easy viewing and fast shooting.
