Zoom's Q8 Handy Video Recorder has been designed for both music and video creators. The sleek and stylish camera is capable of HD video capture and high-quality audio recording. Video-wise, you can capture HD 2304 x 1296 at 30 fps with the 160-degree wide-angle lens. This camera can also be connected to your computer via USB and used as a high-quality webcam. When it comes to audio, the Q8 can record up to 24-Bit / 96 kHz audio in both ACC and WAV formats. This can be recorded using the detachable X/Y condenser microphone, but also compatible Zoom microphone capsules. High-Quality Video Footage

The Zoom Q8 is able to capture HD 2304x1296 video at 30 fps, resulting in a resolution that's higher than Full HD 1080p. This makes for impressive video content for professional use and with that extra resolution, you're able to crop or reframe your shot to suit your media. But of course, you aren't confined by this resolution. You're able to record standard 1080p at 30 fps and 720p video at 30 or 60 fps. Furthermore, if you're audience calls for it, you're able to record lower resolution WVGA formats for smaller file sizes but as a standard, videos are recorded in .MOV format.

All of the above is captured using the Zoom Q8's wide 160-degree angle lens. This lens allows you to capture almost everything in front of you when recording and capture unique perspective shots. But just as the Q8 gives you the option to shoot at lower resolutions, the Q8 understands the need for versatility when filming. If a wide-angle shot doesn't suit your scene, you can use the step-zoom feature which allows you to select between 5 narrow fields-of-view which will give you a tighter crop whilst retaining quality.

Impressive Audio Recording

Zoom is well known for creating high-quality, high-performance audio recorders, and they have taken those same features over to the Q8. Because of this, you're able to record AAC and WAV formats up to 24-bit/96 kHz. The audio can be recorded alongside a video or can be recorded separately which in turn, enables the Q8 to be used as a four-channel audio recorder. In addition to this, the Q8's X/Y stereo microphone capsule is detachable, meaning you can swap this in and out with compatible Zoom capsules e.g. from the Zoom H5 and Zoom H6 (not compatible with the EXH-6 TRS/XLR Combo Capsule).

However, the included microphone is very impressive in itself. It features two matched unidirectional condenser microphones that are set at 120° apart. Together they have a maximum sound pressure input of 140 dB SPL and an input gain of up to +47 dB. This microphone is more than capable of capturing crisp, clear and distortion-free audio.
