3 Legged Thing’s Punks Trent 2.0 kit is optimised for outdoor use. The kit includes the Docz2 Foot Stabiliser that offers more stability and reduced camera shake when using the monopod. The monopod itself is extremely versatile with a max. payload of 30kg and 3 leg sections that allow you to frame your shots. Made from aircraft-grade magnesium alloy, it is super-lightweight but built to last.

Innovative Design

The 3 Legged Thing Punks Trent 2.0 Monopod expands on its impressive predecessor by offering redesigned features that improve performance and operation. First up are the enhanced “Chicken Lips” or Shims. This new design has been engineered to reduce rotation as well as offer improved strength and rigidity. Accompanying this are redeveloped leg locks that combine knurling and rubber pads that increase grip and leverage. Furthermore, they can now be used in damp conditions or when wearing gloves.

Designed to Move

The Trent 2.0 monopod is all about freedom of movement. Ideal for a wide range of applications in both photography and videography, this monopod can extend to a maximum height of 2 meters tall and can support almost 50 times its own weight - an impressive maximum payload of 30kg that should to most camera-lens setups. Adding to its versatile nature, the monopod features dual threads at both ends that allows you to attach accessories other than your camera such as a boom microphone. Finally, the foot of this monopod has a 3/8"-16 thread, with a 1/4"-20 adapter sleeve that’s compatible with a variety of tripod footwear.

Docz2 Foot Stabiliser

The kit version of the Punks Trent 2.0 Monopod includes the 3 Legged Thing Docz2 Foot Stabiliser. This is a rugged foot stabiliser with an alloy base designed to add stability to monopods. It can also be used as a mini tripod for loads up to 20kg and features an adjustable ball mount. A rubber adjuster controls the friction lock on Docz2's ball mount, enabling a smooth panning motion for action and sports photography. Using the built-in 1/4"-20 thread cameras can be mounted directly onto the DOCZ2, or for added versatility users can add a standard tripod head using the supplied 3/8"-16 thread adapter.

Should I use a monopod or a tripod?

While both options offer more support than handheld shooting, they are designed for different scenarios. A tripod will offer more stability and can be left to stand on its own which is ideal for long exposure photography or long video sequences. Monopods will reduce camera shake but cannot stand alone. You’ll use monopods for that added stability when on the move e.g. tracking wildlife or filming sport.
