Canon have released details of their latest digital SLR, the Canon EOS 500D. This powerhouse DSLR brings full HD video (1080p) to an attractive price point in the market.
Whilst the design and dimensions are nearly identical to the Canon 450D, the 15.1mp CMOS sensor appears to have descended from its big-brother, the Canon 50D.
Additional must know EOS 500D specifications include the 3" LCD screen (920k pixels), DIGIC IV processor, integrated sensor cleaning, and a sensitivity range of 100-3200 ISO (which can be extended to ISO 12,800). For action fans the 500D's JPEG buffer sits at 170 frames, maximum 3.4fps. The metering (35-zone TTL) and autofocus (9-point) appear unchanged from the 450D.
