This week Nikon have announced their latest range of compact cameras. While some are new and improved updates on popular previous models (such as the P7100), some are brand new - like Nikon's first ever rugged camera: the AW100 which will be available in a fantastic camouflage finish, perfect for the great outdoors!
Nikon Coolpix P7100
As you'll see from the comparison table below, Nikon have made very few changes to the specifications of the P7000 in its replacement model - the P7100, which was announced this week. What they have added though, is practical functionality in the form of a new articulating screen and command dial on the front of the camera, as well as faster autofocus speeds and reduced time lag.

Arguaby the most exciting addition to Nikon's compact camera announcements this week is their first ever rugged camera: the Coolpix AW100. Nikon Coolpix S1200pj
Nikon caused quite a buzz when they released the world's first digital camera with an integrated projector back in 2009, and this week they announced the latest version with the addition of a few tweaks: the S1200pj. Nikon have doubled the maximum ISO to 6400 and have made the S1200pj compatible with the Apple iPhone, iPad and iTouch for instant projection, making crowding around a small screen to view photos a thing of the past.
