The Bresser Full HD Deep-Sky Camera and Guider is an ideal camera for astrophotography; for both planets and deep-sky objects like nebulae or galaxies. It supports the ToupSky Astro Imaging Software for post-processing of the captured images and videos. Featuring the Sony IMX290 CMOS sensor, this camera with an autoguider has increased high light sensitivity and quantum efficiency.

Compact and Lightweight Camera Body

The Bresser Deep-Sky Camera is made from aluminium and has a CNC milled housing that allows the air around the camera to cool the sensor. This durable and sturdy construction of the camera allows you to use it on any solar equipment without any need for a Barlow to be attached to the front. It also includes a C-mount adapter so that different filters or reducers can be attached to the front of the camera. It can use an optional M42-to-C-mount adapter to be fitted to a filter wheel or a large format Barlow.

Sony CMOS Sensor

The Camera comes equipped with the Sony IMX290 CMOS Colour Sensor which has high light sensitivity and delivers low noise results. This backlit sensor ensures short exposure times and freezes any air turbulence in an individual image. The housing of the camera allows the sensor to easily detect deep-sky objects without active cooling. The increased quantum efficiency of the sensor at 533nm wavelength is up to 77-percent - making it better than any other CMOS sensor.

Autoguide

The camera can be connected to a guide scope or an equatorial mount guide using the in-built ST4 guide port, using auto-guiding software applications like PHD and GuideDog. Autoguiding increases the exposure time and lets you take accurate images. The extra light sensitivity of the sensor enables you to have a suitable guide star at shorter exposure times and the tubular design of the camera lets you mount it on a range of guide scopes.

Software

There is a software CD included with the camera that contains the dedicated Bresser’s ToupSky software, ASCOM and camera drivers. When setting up the camera, these come in handy in situations when you have no access to an internet connection. The ToupSky imaging software supports video recording, video preview, raw data output, and dark field correction. This software is compatible with Windows 7, 8, 10, Mac OSX, and Linux.
