The Canon BG-E5 battery grip provides a vertical shutter release, control dial, AE/FE lock, exposure compensation, and AF point selector. The extended controls make using the Canon 450D / 500D / 1000D in a portrait orientation more comfortable and easier to balance longer focal length lenses. The BG-E5 battery grip accepts two LP-E5 batteries or six AA batteries.
