The 1.25" Celestron AstroMaster Kit contains a vast selection of key observational accessories to take your stargazing to the next level. The two available eyepieces produce both medium and high magnifications in the majority of telescopes, whilst the Barlow lens doubles the magnification of the eyepiece. The included Red and Blue planetary filters stand as two of the most popular coloured filters used within astronomy. They work by enhancing and highlighting specific areas of Jupiter, Mars, Mercury, Saturn, Venus, and even larger comets. For an upgraded and safer view of the closest celestial object to Earth, a Moon filter is also included that actively reduces glare and intensifies contrast on the surface. All accessories can then be housed in the hard plastic case, which is made up of custom-cut foam lining to suit each individual observational tool.

Exquisite Eyepieces

The two eyepieces that are included within the Celestron AstroMaster Accessory Kit are the 15mm Kellner and the 6mm Plossl. Both of these fit 1.25" diameter lens barrels and further incorporate anti-reflection coatings to enhance light transmission, colour rendition, contrast, and sharpness. The 15mm Kellner offers a key medium magnification that is potential on the majority of OTAs, whilst the 6mm Plossl creates a high-magnification.

The Barlow Lens

The Barlow lens is also characterised as a 1.25" diameter barrel and eyepiece holder. In short, this 2x magnification doubles the magnification of any compatible eyepiece (including both the 15mm Kellner and the 6mm Plossl). Whilst increasing magnification, the Barlow lens preserves the eyepiece's native eye relief for enhanced viewing at higher magnifications. For the astrophotographers among us, the in-built T-thread can accept optional camera-specific T-rings to allow for high-magnification astrophotography.

Fantastic Planetary Filters

Both filters incorporate tinted glass lenses, anti-reflection coating to prevent glaring and ghosting, as well as threads to allow for filter stacking. The 1.25" diameter fits the vast majority of standard 1.25" eyepieces, with the #80A Blue consisting of 30% transmittance. This light blue variant is great for studying details on both Jupiter and Saturn. It is able to enhance the contrast of Jupiter's cloud belits, whilst also highlighting further details in Saturn's belts and polar features.

The #25 Red filter essentially blocks the transmission of blue and green wavelengths. This makes it ideal for studying the bluer cloud colourations on Saturn, daylight observations of Venus, and exploring the lighter-toned surface features on Jupiter. Lastly, the Moon filter consists of a 21mm clear aperture and 18% transmittance to reduce glare, enhance contrast, and highlight celestial detailings. It also makes viewing the Moon much safer when it is at or near full phase.
