Continuous Lighting
With continuous lighting for photography, what you see is what you get, whether it’s a small LED cube or a set of professional halogen-lamp heads. It’s easy to set up, use and position the light in accordance with what you need for each shot. This is the main advantage of continuous light as professional studio lighting, and is why some photographers prefer it to using flash units. Portrait, product and still-life photographers can watch how shadows are falling on their subjects, and make precise adjustments to achieve the exact effect they’re looking for.
Another huge advantage of continuous lighting is that you don’t have to change your setup for a video workflow. If you’re someone who’s frequently mixing both stills and video, having continuous light means you can keep the exact same setup as you hop from one to the other. This is a huge asset for modern content creators, who are increasingly expected to be as adept at shooting video as they are with stills.
