What’s new?

The DJI Mic Mini 2 Transmitter introduces refinements to audio control and system flexibility within the Mic Mini series. It also adds three selectable voice tone presets, consisting of Regular for balanced response, Rich for increased low-frequency emphasis, and Bright for enhanced high-frequency clarity. New multi-colour magnetic front covers add a customisable exterior layer without affecting microphone placement or performance, while a rotatable magnetic clip improves alignment during use.

Operational updates include mixed device transmission alongside the familiar DJI OsmoAudio direct connection, enabling multi-device workflows without requiring a receiver. These changes mark a functional step forward in portable wireless audio capture.

Compact audio recording system

The DJI Mic Mini 2 is built around a compact, self-contained layout, with two transmitters, a mobile receiver, and a dedicated charging case that keeps everything stored together. Each transmitter weighs approximately 11g, so it sits lightly on clothing without pulling or shifting during use. The magnetic mounting system allows quick attachment, and the rotatable clip helps align the microphone more precisely with the speaker.

The omnidirectional pickup captures sound evenly, which helps maintain consistent levels as subjects move naturally. Included windscreens reduce wind interference outdoors, making the system more usable in changing conditions. The mobile receiver connects directly to smartphones, providing a streamlined recording interface, while settings and firmware updates are managed through the DJI Mimo app. The charging case keeps all components organised, charged, and ready to deploy.

Voice tone presets

The three voice tone presets give you defined control over how speech is shaped at the point of capture. Regular mode keeps the response flat and balanced, which suits most dialogue work. Rich mode adds low-frequency emphasis, giving voices more weight when they feel thin. Bright mode lifts higher frequencies, improving articulation and presence, particularly in environments where clarity needs to cut through background noise.

Noise control for cleaner audio

Two selectable noise-cancelling levels allow adaptation to different environments. Basic mode reduces consistent low-level noise, such as air conditioning, while preserving natural vocal tone. Strong mode applies a more aggressive reduction, helping isolate speech in louder surroundings. The mobile receiver includes a direct switch to toggle between these modes, enabling quick adjustment during recording.

Automatic limiting and safety tracks

The system records at 48kHz 24-bit, maintaining detail across dynamic speech. Automatic limiting monitors input levels and reduces gain when signals exceed safe thresholds, preventing clipping. Gain can be adjusted across five levels using the DJI Mimo app, allowing control over input sensitivity.

The safety track function records a second channel at -6 dB alongside the main track, providing a clean backup if the primary recording peaks during unpredictable moments.

Broad device connectivity

The DJI Mic Mini 2 mobile receiver connects directly to smartphones for compact recording setups. It supports simultaneous connection of up to two transmitters, enabling dual-source capture. Mixed-device transmission allows pairing with DJI Mic Mini, Mic Mini 2, and other Mic series transmitters, enabling flexible system expansion.

DJI OsmoAudio enables direct connection to compatible DJI devices without a receiver, maintaining 48kHz 24-bit audio while reducing setup complexity.

Battery management

The transmitters and mobile receiver provide up to 11.5 hours and 10.5 hours of operation, respectively, on a single charge. The included 1TX + 1 Mobile RX charging case extends total system runtime to up to 24 hours, allowing multiple recording sessions without needing external power. Fast charging provides around one hour of use from approximately five minutes of charging, which is useful when working to tight schedules.
