The DJI Mic Mini 2 Transmitter introduces refinements to audio control and system flexibility within the Mic Mini series. It also adds three selectable voice tone presets, consisting of Regular for balanced response, Rich for increased low-frequency emphasis, and Bright for enhanced high-frequency clarity. New multi-colour magnetic front covers add a customisable exterior layer without affecting microphone placement or performance, while a rotatable magnetic clip improves alignment during use.

Operational updates include mixed device transmission alongside the familiar DJI OsmoAudio direct connection, enabling multi-device workflows without requiring a receiver. These changes mark a functional step forward in portable wireless audio capture.

Compact form and mounting flexibility

Weighing approximately 11g, the DJI Mic Mini 2 transmitter is a compact wireless microphone designed to remain unobtrusive when worn. The magnetic mounting system allows for quick placement and repositioning, while the rotatable clip enables more precise alignment towards the speaker. This helps maintain consistent audio capture, even when placement options are limited by clothing or movement.

Controlled audio capture

Automatic limiting provides reliable protection against sudden volume increases, reducing the risk of clipping during speech. This is particularly useful in situations where monitoring is not possible. The addition of a safety track, recorded at a lower level, offers a secondary safeguard, ensuring usable audio is retained even in unpredictable conditions. The 48kHz 24-bit recording adds a solid level of detail and headroom, keeping voices clean and natural without sounding compressed or brittle.

Tonal adjustment and noise cancelling modes

The three selectable voice tone presets offer subtle adjustments to suit different vocal characteristics. Regular maintains a neutral profile, Rich introduces additional low-end presence, and Bright enhances clarity in higher frequencies. The two-level noise-cancelling system is similarly practical. The Basic setting addresses low-level background noise, while the Strong setting reduces more prominent ambient sound in busier environments.

Customisable appearance and practical design

The interchangeable magnetic front covers add a practical and aesthetic visual element to the transmitter. Standard finishes such as Obsidian Black and Glaze White keep the unit understated, while the optional multi-colour covers allow it to blend more naturally with different clothing. The covers attach quickly and sit flush with the body, so they do not affect handling or positioning, but they do help reduce how noticeable the microphone appears on camera.

Battery performance and charging

The system is designed to support extended recording sessions, with combined operation reaching up to 48 hours when used with the separately available charging case. Fast charging offers a practical advantage, delivering usable operating time after a short charge, reducing downtime, and supporting continuous recording across longer sessions.

Flexible connectivity and system integration

When used with a separately available receiver, the transmitter supports multi-device setups and mixed transmitter configurations, making it suitable for small multi-subject recordings. Direct connection via DJI OsmoAudio allows compatible Osmo devices to receive audio from the transmitter without a separate receiver, simplifying setup and reducing equipment requirements.
