FAQs:
Can the DJI Mic Mini 2S transmitter record without the Mobile Receiver?
Yes. The transmitter includes 14.5GB of usable internal storage and can operate independently as a recorder. It stores up to 28 hours in 24-bit mode or 22 hours using 32-bit float. The transmitter can also connect directly to compatible smartphones through Bluetooth or to supported DJI devices through OsmoAudio. This means the Mobile Receiver is not required for every recording setup.
Can I add a second transmitter to this kit?
Yes. The DJI Mic Series Mobile Receiver can connect to up to two compatible transmitters simultaneously. In Green Light mode, it supports Mic Mini 2S, Mic Mini 2 and Mic Mini transmitters in any compatible two-transmitter combination. Stereo mode can then keep the two sources separate across left and right channels.
What is the maximum transmission distance?
The Mobile Receiver provides up to 300m transmission when connected to compatible Mic Mini 2S, Mic Mini 2, or Mic Mini transmitters in Green Light mode. Mixed Blue Light connections involving Mic 2 or Mic 3 transmitters support up to 200m. The Mic Mini 2S Transmitter can also reach up to 400m when paired with a Mic Mini 2S Receiver, although that receiver is not included in this kit.
Can I simultaneously charge my phone while the Mobile Receiver is attached?
Yes. When the Mobile Receiver is connected to a compatible USB-C phone, external power can be connected to the receiver’s USB-C charging port. This allows the phone to keep charging while audio is recorded, reducing the risk of running down the phone during longer sessions. Removing external power during use can temporarily interrupt the audio connection. Lightning-equipped phones require the separately available DJI Mic Series Mobile Receiver Adapter (USB-C to Lightning).
Does the Mobile Receiver support stereo recording?
Yes. The DJI Mic Series Mobile Receiver supports Mono, Stereo and Mono Safety Track modes. Stereo keeps two connected transmitters on separate left and right channels, giving more control over each speaker during editing. Mono combines connected transmitters into one output, while Mono Safety Track creates an additional lower-level track for protection against sudden peaks. Recording mode can be checked and adjusted through DJI Mimo.
How do I transfer recordings from the transmitter?
The compact charging case included with this bundle does not support data copying. Connect the Mic Mini 2S Transmitter directly to a computer using the supplied DJI Mic Mini 2 Transmitter Magnetic Charging Cable instead. Internal recordings can then be transferred at up to 34MB/s. Files are stored in WAV format, with longer recordings divided into 30-minute sections.
What is the battery life of the transmitter and charging case?
The included DJI Mic Mini 2 Charging Case stores the Mic Mini 2S Transmitter and Mobile Receiver together, keeping the mobile kit ready as a single compact unit. The transmitter can stay fitted with either its magnet or magnetic clip, while the other mounting accessory stores inside the lid, reducing the need to dismantle the setup between uses. A full case provides around 1.5 complete transmitter charges. The transmitter itself runs for up to 11 hours, while five minutes of charging provides up to one hour of additional use. The charging case takes around one hour to recharge.
