The DJI Mic Mini 2S Transmitter advances the Mic Mini line by adding internal recording directly to the microphone, including 32-bit float capture for greater recovery latitude when levels change unexpectedly. Its 14.5GB usable storage records up to 28 hours at 24-bit or 22 hours in 32-bit float, allowing the transmitter to maintain its own audio file independently of the wireless connection. A new AI noise-cancelling system separates speech from surrounding sound more precisely, while Adaptive Gain Control manages sudden peaks or uneven input levels.

The transmitter retains the compact dimensions of the Mic Mini 2 Transmitter while increasing weight only slightly from 11g to 12g. Bluetooth 6.0 supports direct smartphone connection, while OsmoAudio allows receiver-free operation with compatible DJI devices. It can also join compatible Mic Mini wireless systems when a separate receiver is required. These changes give the transmitter a broader role beyond straightforward wireless capture.

Internal recording and file security

The DJI Mic Mini 2S Transmitter includes 14.5GB of usable internal storage, giving the microphone its own recording path alongside a wireless feed. It stores up to 28 hours of 24-bit audio or 22 hours in 32-bit float, with loop recording replacing the oldest files once storage becomes full. Internal recording can start manually, automatically when the transmitter powers on, or when it connects to a compatible Mic Mini 2S Receiver. A low receiver battery can also trigger recording automatically, helping preserve a local copy if the wireless system loses power.

32-bit float recording provides greater latitude when speech levels rise or fall sharply, reducing the need for constant gain monitoring. Internal recordings can be saved as an untreated Original File or as an Edited File with selected processing applied. This gives users the choice between a clean source for post-production and audio that already includes noise cancelling, voice tone, low cut or Adaptive Gain Control.

Internal storage also allows the transmitter to work independently as a voice recorder without a receiver or camera. Recording can begin directly from the transmitter, while haptic feedback confirms recording changes when the status light is difficult to see. The included magnetic charging cable also provides a direct connection to a computer for transferring recordings at up to 34MB/s.

AI noise cancelling and level control

A dedicated NPU runs the Mic Mini 2S AI noise-cancelling system, allowing the transmitter to distinguish speech from surrounding sound before applying suppression. Basic mode reduces lower-level background noise such as ventilation and room reverberation, while Strong mode applies heavier reduction where surrounding sound is more prominent. Noise cancelling can be controlled from the transmitter, DJI Mimo app or compatible OsmoAudio devices.

Adaptive Gain Control manages changing speech levels separately from background noise. Clipping Control reduces gain when sudden peaks occur, while Loudness Balance smooths out quieter and louder passages for a more even result. Regular, Rich and Bright voice presets provide simple tonal adjustment, while a 100Hz low-cut filter helps reduce low-frequency rumble.

Device connectivity and OsmoAudio

Bluetooth allows the Mic Mini 2S Transmitter to connect directly to compatible smartphones for supported recording and livestreaming applications without using a receiver. The DJI Mimo app provides access to recording, gain, noise cancelling, voice tone, low cut and Adaptive Gain Control settings when supported.

OsmoAudio provides a separate direct connection to compatible DJI devices, removing the receiver from the recording chain. Supported devices can provide microphone settings and synchronise internal recording with camera recording status. The transmitter can also pair with compatible Mic Mini and Mic Mini 2S receivers, or the DJI Mic Series Mobile Receiver, allowing it to become part of a wider wireless setup when required.

Compact mounting and operation

The Mic Mini 2S Transmitter weighs 12g with its magnetic front cover fitted, keeping it light enough for direct attachment to clothing. The supplied magnetic clip supports four mounting directions, helping keep the microphone positioned towards the speaker when attached to collars, lapels or hat brims. The included magnet provides another mounting option where the clip is unnecessary.

An omnidirectional pickup pattern maintains consistent speech capture as the wearer changes position, while the supplied windscreen reduces wind reaching the microphone outdoors. Obsidian Black and Glaze White magnetic front covers allow the visible finish to be changed without altering placement. Haptic feedback also confirms changes to internal recording and noise cancelling when the transmitter itself is out of view.
