DJI’s Osmo Mobile 6 is their latest gimbal designed for smartphone users to get creative with their content creation and filmmaking. This compact stabiliser fits into the palm of your hand but unfolds into a powerful creative tool. Comfortable and easy to use, it has an anti-slip grip made from stain-resistant material and is designed to naturally sit within your hand when in use. The Osmo Mobile 6 folds into a compact size for easy storage and transportation.

Once unfolded, the Osmo Mobile 6 automatically powers on and can even open the DJI Mimo app on your smartphone for you. Attaching your device has never been easier thanks to the quick-release magnetic phone clamp that allows fast setups with a secure connection. Boasting DJI’s advanced stabilisation technology, 3-axis stabilisation ensures smooth, shake-free footage even when moving the camera in inventive and cinematic ways.

Unlimited Creative Options

The Osmo Mobile 6 features a range of functions that allow smooth operation and unlimited possibilities when shooting. On the gimbal is a panel that indicates the battery level, system status, and current gimbal mode. With the side wheel users can adjust the focal length but pressing it switches to manual focus adjustment for shooting cinematic sequences. The gimbal also features an extension rod that is perfect for taking selfies or exploring high and low-angle shots.

Pressing the M button cycles through four different modes suited for different scenarios. Follow mode is great for stability, following the gimbal’s pan and tilt movements, whilst Tilt Lock mode only follows pan movements and locks any tilting or rolling. FPV mode utilises all three axes of the gimbal to follow the movement of a marked subject and produce dynamic footage. SpinShot mode lets users take advantage of the joystick to control the rotation of the camera - which comes in handy when pushing or pulling shots.

DJI Mimo app

Downloading the DJI Mimo app for use with the Osmo Mobile 6 unlocks further features and functions that will not only make high-quality videos easier to shoot but easier to edit too. With the free app downloaded and the smartphone linked to the gimbal, unfolding the Osmo Mobile 6 not only turns the system on but will also open DJI Mimo so you can shoot straight away.

The new and improved ActiveTrack 5.0 allows stable tracking of subjects at far longer distances than ever before. This function can also correctly keep up with subjects that turn to the side or spin, and you can also keep the subject dead centre in a shot for more dramatic footage. With the app, you can also use gesture controls, use templates to help with shooting and editing, edit your footage into a complete sequence with a single tap, and much more.

FAQs:

Will the magnetic force interfere with my smartphone?

The magnetic clamp uses a closed-loop design to prevent smartphones from suffering with performance issues. Other objects - such as bank cards, pacemakers, and hard drives - should not go near the magnetic clamp.

Does the gimbal require balancing before use?

Thanks to powerful motors, accurate balancing is not needed. Simply attach your phone to the magnetic clamp and start shooting.

What phones are compatible with the Osmo Mobile 6?

Osmo Mobile 6 is compatible with most smartphones. The recommended phone size is 67-84mm in width, 6.9-10mm in thickness and 170-290g in weight.

What phones are compatible with the DJI Mimo app?

The DJI Mimo app is compatible with smartphones running iOS 12.0 or above, or Android 8.0 or above.
