Professional Stabilisation

Whilst the RS 3 Mini is 50% lighter than the RS 3 Pro, it inherits the same outstanding third-generation RS stabilisation algorithm and is able to support payloads of up to 2 kg. This innovative combination allows the RS 3 Mini to easily handle larger setups like a Sony A7S3 + 24-70mm F2.8 GM lens for professional-grade stabilisation even when running, capturing low-angle shots, or shooting in flashlight mode.

Thanks to its high-torque motors and concentrated centre of balance, the RS 3 Mini is also able to maintain a consistent performance when zooming to max focal lengths. Without the need for constant rebalancing, this gimbal enhances stability whilst optimising ergonomics for a comfortable handheld experience.

Innovative Design

The RS 3 Mini introduces three new features designed to maximise flexibility. The first feature to benefit from an upgrade is the dual-layered quick-release plate. This plate follows the ARCA standard for use with a wide range of tripods and features an upper plate with a curved placement guide that prevents the camera from loosening.

Making a breakthrough in Native Vertical Shooting, DJI has also designed the quick-release plate to be mounted to the gimbal's vertical arm. This allows users to film portrait content that's optimised for social media platforms whilst maintaining access to the same control experience as horizontal mode. And, thanks to the inclusion of the NATO expansion port, the RS 3 Mini supports custom setups with options to install everything from briefcase handles to monitors.

Intuitive Controls

Featuring the same Bluetooth shutter control that debuted on RS 3 Pro, the RS 3 Mini is able to automatically reconnect with a camera after the initial pairing. Once paired, video recording and capturing stills can be controlled using the record button on the gimbal.

Keeping in line with the rest of the DJI RS series, the RS 3 Mini is also equipped with an ergonomic front dial and Gimbal Mode Switch Button. Whilst the front dial can be used for adjusting the focus, ISO, aperture, shutter, and other essential parameters, the M button settings can be customised using the 1.4-inch full-colour touchscreen. This intuitive combination facilitates a much smoother shooting experience.

The RS 3 Mini weighs just 795 g in Portrait mode which is approximately 50% lighter than RS 3 Pro and 40% lighter than RS 3. When shooting with the horizontal plate, the RS 3 Mini weighs only 850 g. This is a great option for lengthy periods spent shooting handheld.

Are there any additional accessories for the RS 3 Mini?

Yes. Thanks to the NATO port on the side of the body, the DJI RS 3 Mini supports the installation of accessories such as briefcase handles, external fill lights, and microphones. There is also a bottom 1/4" screw hole that can be used to connect tripods.

What camera and lens combinations does the RS 3 Mini support?

Although the DJI RS 3 Mini does not support fast charging, its innovative design means it can be charged in as little as 2.5 hours (tested in a 25° C environment while using a 10W charger). This is the same amount of charging time as the DJI RS 3.

Does the RS 3 Mini support any creative functions?

The RS 3 Mini's unique size and professional-level features provide ample opportunity to achieve rich camera movements. With access to the Ronin app, users can spark inspiration, choosing between creative functions like time-lapse, tracking and panorama.
