What does the DJI SDR Transmission 2 Expansion Accessory Kit add?

The kit adds extra video connections, mounting hardware, cable retention and physical protection around the DJI SDR Transmission 2 Transceiver. The Expansion Plate adds SDI and HDMI alongside USB-C connections, while the cage provides NATO, 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 mounting points. HDMI and USB-C clamps secure connected leads so movement through a camera or vehicle rig is less likely to pull them from the ports. The supplied cold shoe adapter and D-TAP to USB-C cable add additional mounting and power connections.

Can the Expansion Plate output from SDI and HDMI at the same time?

Yes. With the Expansion Plate fitted to a receiver, its SDI and HDMI ports can output video simultaneously. The transceiver can also output through either DP or HDMI at the same time, although its own DP and HDMI ports cannot operate together. This means the same received feed can reach several monitoring devices without adding another receiver. The Expansion Plate supports video input and output up to 1080p/60fps.

Does the Expansion Plate support 4K video?

No. The Expansion Plate handles video input and output up to 1080p/60fps, not 4K. A 4K signal can still enter the SDR Transmission 2 system through the transceiver, then be output at 1080p through the Expansion Plate's SDI connection. This gives a Full HD feed to SDI monitors or other production equipment while the main transmission system handles the higher-resolution source. 4K transmission remains tied to the transceiver's HDMI or DP connections.

What mounting and cable support does the Transceiver Cage provide?

The Transceiver Cage includes a NATO port, two 1/4"-20 threaded holes and one 3/8"-16 threaded hole. These points let the transceiver sit within larger camera, vehicle or support rigs without relying on a single mounting position. Separate HDMI and USB-C clamps hold connected cables close to the unit, reducing movement at the plugs when you reposition the rig. The cage measures 124 × 110 × 49mm and weighs approximately 91g.

Can the Expansion Plate connect with compatible DJI gimbals?

Yes. The Expansion Plate can connect directly to DJI RS 5 through its right-side USB-C port, while its lower USB-C connection supports other compatible Ronin products. RS 4 Pro, RS 4 and RS 3 Pro require the separate DJI SDR Transmission 2 Gimbal Control Cable (USB-C to CAN), while Ronin 2 and Master Wheels require the separate USB-C to 4-pin cable. When the rest of the connection chain supports it, these connections support gimbal control while also powering the transceiver.
