The Chat Link cable from Elgato is a simple yet essential tool that lets you capture quality audio from your Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, or PlayStation 5. Without this, you would have to make sacrifices to the audio that your audience can hear - which can lower the production value of your live-stream. It works by splitting the audio output from your controller and sending it simultaneously to your headset and to your compatible Elgato Game Capture card (HD60, HD60 S, or HD60 Pro) for future videos and live-streaming.

How to Record PS4 Audio When Using Headsets
FAQs:
Does the cable also work as a mic?
The Elgato Chat Link Cable splits the audio between your headset (with mic) and your console direct to your Elgato Game Capture device.
How long is the cable?
The cable measures 16cm (6.29 inches).
Should you hear the usual audio through a headset when Chat Link is connected?
Chat Link connects to your console in the same way as a wired headset. Be sure to check that your connection is secure and that your console settings are set to allow audio output to the headset connected to the controller.
Why would buzzing occur in the headset when using this cable with a PS4?
Buzzing in the headset can occur if you are plugging your controller directly into the console via USB connection. It is best to always fully-charge your controller prior to recording.
